Pathfinder 1E Hollow's Last Hope: the first adventure in Paizo's new world for free!

I didn't play D&D regularly enough over the past few years to justify a subscription to the old mags, though the release schedule of Pathfinder really appeals to me. I was only on the fence about the price. That said, this 'freebie' is absolutely gorgeous and has tipped me over into devout Paizo customer territory. Consider another Pathfinder subscription sold, come payday.

Hey Erik, was there enough of a run to have copies available at GenCon too?

Oh we'll certainly have Crown of the Kobold King at Gen Con too. And two other adventures (Curse of Bloodsworn Vale and Seven Swords of Sin) as well!

Oh, and Pathfinder.

We're thrilled to hear people's reaction to this adventure. I promise it is just a taste of the unbelievably awesome stuff to come in the full-on GameMastery Modules line and in Pathfinder. Hoo boy.

We're really interested in what people think of the adventure. We're trying a few new things with encounter design, stat block format, and the like, and we plan to be very receptive to reader feedback.

Thanks for giving Hollow's Last Hope a look, everyone!

Really nice design.

I hope you'll be keeping the same cartographers for the entire series. Chris West and Rob L are my two favourites. If they keep doing the maps, I'll buy the lot.

I haven't had the chance to read through it carefully, but so far I really like the quaint, fairy-tale atmosphere it seems to evoke.

Like
the animated cauldron, the dead faeries and the legend about using faerie blood to transmute lead into gold, so sole dwarf that rests in peace...
Add to that the Pathfinder goblins, and it suggests a kind of world I'd be very interested in.

Erik -- I think it's great. I have a related question, though not entirely off topic.

I have a new gaming group that starts play in early/mid July. I am bandying about APs for them, and I want to run Pathfinder/GameMastery, but I don't really have any players guide or something to provide them with some background. So far, the winner of my AP search is War of the Burning Sky.

Granted, WotBS is great and I am already running it in an online group, I wanted to run something different for this F2F group, but I think Savage Tide (and AoW, SC) is too tough, they are new. They are itching to start, want some campaign background, and I am afraid if we have to wait another month and a half, they will decline and we will start another campaign.

How can I use Hollow's Last Hope as a lead-in for Pathfinder? Are they in a fairly similar region? Will a player's guide/campaign guide be released prior to the first adventure? BTW, this is why I loved WotBS, I was able to whet the appetites of my players prior to the first adventure coming out.

Is there a more specific release schedule for the Pathfinder adventures, the PDFs, players guides, etc, than just August 2007?

I will post this on Paizo's forums, as well, but hoped you may have your eyes on this thread and can answer some of these pressing questions.

Thanks!

Great adventure, and great way to show off the high quality of this forthcoming line. :)

Since your open to feedback, a very short line of stats in addition to "MM pg32", etc, would be helpful, something like "Rock Troll, AC19, hp22, atk+8/+3 (bite dmg 1d6+6) move30', see MM pg32" (just my crappy example, you guys can probably come up with something better). That would really reduce the need to stop and grab the MM to times of absolute necessity only, saving time and table space.

Other than that I wouldn't change a thing, layout and artwork are gorgeous, and the adventure itself is well written and imaginative, and your editors do good work too, which is always a plus.
