Houston, We Have...Snow?

It's snowing in Houston as I type this. Not what one who lives in a more temperate clime would call snow, doubtlessly. It's falling lightly, and unlikely to stick, but it's sure pretty to watch.

White Christmas is cool... Of course, I'm slightly ill so it wouldn't do me much good anyway if it snowed where I am, but still. :)

Well, here in NJ all of the humidity in the western hemisphere decided to fall yesterday, so not much chance of snow here. Damn cold, though.

Just half a meters worth of snow here. And that's very very little. ;)

It's raining icy slivers from the sky. Looks pretty. Cuts skin. But then you freeze over and it doesn't hurt anymore. :D

A white xmas won't be in the cards. This IS Houston we're talking about. Where I am, we got about a forty five minute dusting that didn't stick. Those of you who get snowed on more than once per decade probably wouldn't have counted it at all. But it was the first time The Kiddo's seen snow that wasn't on TV or in a picture, so that was pretty awesome.

I know what that's like. Currently I'm with my parents up in north Georgia. When I was in high school up here, people would go crazy with even the smallest amount of snow. Everyone loved it, even if my step dad(who's from New York) laughed at it all.

Like Jonesy, I have about a foot and a half of snow outside. I think it's very cool when kids in warmer areas can see snow around Christmas time, but it doesn't stick or accumulate enough to be a traffic hazard.

My daughter was visiting this week. My ex had moved to southern Virginia this past summer and, during one of my daughter's calls home, she found out that the school my ex teaches at was cancelled for a dusting of snow. She thought it was hilarious and couldn't understand why the people there couldn't deal with an amount of snow which didn't even require boots.

I should have figured that out but my own desires, fueled by being depressed about being ill, kind of took control over my reasoning. Sorry about that...
