I'm just wondering if publishers will ignore it when it comes out. I mean can't you just continue using the current one out there? This "revised" edition may lead to a lot of confusion for d20 products. What do you plan to do?

We have no choice.

The terms of the OGL are quite clear, we must operate according to the SRD.

If we use the gentleperson's agreement pre-release SRD for material, we have to adjust our products after the fact to use the released version when it is released.

By the way, what "revised SRD" are you talking about? I'm asuming you mean the final release of the SRD (since the monster & psionics sections of the SRD are still in pre-release and we are currently using them under the gentlepersons agreement until they go into final release).

I think he talks about a possible changed SRD when the revised editions of the core rulebooks comes out next year.

I'm also wondering how the revised edition D&D will affect your release schedule.

For example, if you have some products coming out in the months following the revised rules, do you plan to delay release to see what you can do with the new rules before printing? Nobody knows for sure when the revised SRD will come out, so how do you expect to handle this for your release schedule?

In other words, will you hold back any releases because of the revised SRD?

I'm betting they'll be thrilled to use it, since I'm guessing that a significant number of the splatbook feats will make it into the Revised SRD. Not all, maybe not even most, but a lot. A good number of PrC's as well, I'd say.

As long as designers and publishers keep in mind that not everyone is going to pick up the revised core rules on the day of the summer release, they can use any new OGC and print them in their product for those that are still using the original 3e rulebooks.

Has there been ANY mention of a revised SRD in the official communications from WotC thus far? As far as I know, there was no mention of a "revised" SRD beyond the final release, except for the need to add additional material to it such as from the ELH.

No official annoucement, so we are probably discussing something that may not come to light.

Then again, it is something that Wizards should consider if they still want to continue the d20 marketing. It would be frustrating to designers who may not be able to publish a product for the revised core rulebook when he has to use the original SRD as his template.

Goodness! I didn't even realize that revised rule books were coming out.... I need to get away from my desk more!
I hope that it's mostly additions, and doesn't change the previous rules all that much....

Dave, doesn't look like it will, according the FAQ. But I'm in the wait in see mode. I don't think though this will affect most d20 products as it stands right now. (Might change after they release them.)
