How do you pronounce 'EN World'?

well seeing as how I was one of the 3 people who came up with it, and hell for that matter produced the first logo (that was used for all of like 3 days untill Liquide yelled at us) I've pronounced it E.N. World since it's inception as a two bit webpage hopeing to catch a bit of glory by stealing Erics name. When I'm talking about the site to people I know though I just call it Erics.

Ah, my friend, I am afraid that I will have to beg to differ with you on this contended origin of the name. Truly it goes a little deeper than you have suggested.

When the d20 System Awards were an idea, it was I who first suggested the name ENnies (as a homage to Eric) which was later adopted. To my mind, it was pronounced as a familiar counterpoint to the awards known as the Emmys, thus my pronunciation of "N-EE(s)".

Later when the call went out for a name for the site, during the transition, I suggested that the name be EN World (no periods, but no less a homage) and thus also not pronounced as initials but rather as a two word (albeit, the first being derived from an acronym), two syllable name with the first being "N" and the second being "World".

Although I am not contending that the old site, before taking over Eric's pages, might have been E.N. etc, the new site, and name without using initials, was a suggestion I made to carry over from the awards.

How others pronounce it is of no mind to me, nor does it change the usefulness of the site or the suggestion in its name that a great debt is owed to "The Eric Noah" for his wonderful site and efforts which later grew to where they are today... :)

Right you are, sorry. It was not a name coined by myself but one that Morrus suggested at one point when we were bounceing names for the site off of each other. I then went into a terrific sulk since I wanted the site named Daemonforge after the campaign setting it was created for. Am I ever glad we decided to go with EN World though. This site might not exsist and Daemonforge might still be a piddly little campaign site that no one knows about... Oh wait, I guess it still is... ahh well life goes on.

Once again I must appologise, it was after all almost a year ago...

Just because someone's initials spell a pronounceable word, doesn't mean you say it that way.

Quite right, no one ever called J.R. Ewing "Jurr" and no one refers to Jack Daniels as "Jid". Likewise, "seeohs" don't run companies and in the age of gender equality, not all G.I.s are "geyes".
When was the last time the "fuhbuy" investigated a crime or someone referred to NYC as "nike"? ;)

Just in case one misguided soul does do all of that, I meant no one in their right mind.

E. N. World (E-eN World) is what I say, altho I pronounce the E and N in german (where only the E is really different, the N is pretty much the same)! ;)

to EricNoah: Toom, Hoom, Room! :p

Nah, seriously, I do pronounce Tome correctly AFAIK! :)

Tomb is also a rather often mispronounced word (at least in germany)!

Bye
Thanee

I always said En-world, too. :o
But it's faster.

And b.t.w.:
Ee-En-world sounds to me like the recording studio of Jethro Tull. :p
