How do you support a hobby store when you don't buy products from the hobby?

Book distributors that service game stores also carry other kinds of books (fiction, non-fiction, textbooks), which means you can order them through your FLGS (if they want to take the time to process individual orders). My local store has done this for me in the past. The prices are slightly higher than Amazon and the delivery time might be a day or two longer, but it's a good way to throw them some support if you aren't interested in RPG material.

Hmm, I do plan on buying the Game of Thrones DVD set when it comes out and I also want to purchase the book set and the newest one when it comes out; good idea!

I have a similar issue, but as a player in the new D&D Encounters season. I've been purchasing Fortune Cards each visit, even though I'm not really interested in building up a collection of them.

I've never subscribed to DDI, but doesn't that just include stats and such, not area descriptions, fluff, etc? Several D&D books are lower on crunch and higher on fluff, such as the Plane Above and Plane Below, Gloomwroght, the Forgotten Realms and Eberron campaign guides, etc. If you only have DDI, you are only getting about 10% of these products, making it worthwhile to purchase them if you are interested in the topics.

You could put the store's name and a link ("My FLGS is _______") in your sig, here and on whatever other boards you visit (assuming it doesn't violate board policy, of course).

I never buy fluff books and I never read the fluff in rules books. It doesn't interest me because I know I'm a better fluffer.

Coffee machine & snacks.

If in the area, instead of stopping at some coffee shop to get a drink or snacks go there, bring friends/family etc.

As mentioned you do not have to by 4e stuff, just something from the store.

I just came back from one of their organised game nights. Seem like a good bunch of people. Good atmosphere in the store. I'm going to run an RPGA game as well as possibly an Encounters night. And their coffee isn't terrible!
