This poll is for people planning on reading the new Harry Potter book. I think it will probably take me over a week to do it because of my daily schedule with the kids and I like to savor it. Thankfully it is coming out after my anniversary so I won't get consumed with it and forget my anniversary this time :p

Once I buy it, I expect my wife gets to read it first. So, it'll be a while before I get to go through it.

If I don't have to work on the day I purchase it [edit: and my fiancee doesn't get to it first], I'll read it within 6 hours. :D

It took me a couple of months to read Goblet of Fire, but that was because I was going through chemo and couldn't concentrate on anything.

Hmm...I'm trying to remember how swiftly I read through the last Harry Potter book.

I think I ate through it over a two day period. I'll probably do the same with the Half-Blood Prince once I get my hands on it.

When Order of the Pheonix came out, I read that over 3 days, but I was still writing exams. This year, I'm all ready done school, and I'll be able to read it in about a day or so.

O my some of you read fast

The last book took me and my fience (I spelled that wrong) almost 4 mounths at a relaxed pace. But that's also because we read it together in the evenings. I plan to do the same with this one so we will see.

Why let your wife read it first... read it together.

Having known a few too many people who have had to undergo chemo, I am sorry you had to endure such an ordeal. :(

OTOH, me & HP -- I figure, based on previous reads of these books and the fact that I am currently between jobs, that it will take me about 2-3 days to read.

Probably within 24 hours, though it depends on when the delivery guy shows up. It's not like Harry's a slow read, and the books would be considerably shorter with adult-book-sized print.
