Just because I'm curious, how important is it to you that interior artwork on game books be in color? Assume that all the art in question, be it color or black and white, is of the same general quality in all other respects.

Hey hey, first vote.

Personally I don't care as long as its well done. I can sit and stare at WAR's black and white stuff such as in sword and fist or the fantastic inkwork in the old L5R book (forget the artist's name and too lazy to go look), but good colour work is just as interesting.

I posted for Black and White. White Wolf publications have some amazing artwork in them and it's almost completely black and white. I find B+W best for scene work, while Color is good for showing something like an individual with no background etc. I prefer scenes to characters hanging in vacuum and thus like the B+W.

The newer stuff by Malhovic is an example of how I want my B&W to look. If it means more quality pictures I would rather have B&W. However, I do like to see Monsters and Spell effects in color. Much easier to show players that way.

Good quality B&W art is fine for me. Color is nice, though. It's hard to say really.

In your poll I chose the third option, but I am willing to pay 'a little' more for color. However, it's the overall quality of the artwork that counts.

After the craptastic color i have seen in some D20 and dungeon magazine i have been favoring B&W. It just seems artists get lazy when the use color.

I'll pay extra for color. That FRCS is just so daaamn beatiful book. In the contrary, I particularly didn't like Midnights approach: a few color pages, then B&W. Just underlined for me how bad B&W is compared to nicely done color . :(

You didn't put an option for those of us who are amazed by the people on this board who think that artwork is that important. Maybe I'm just one guy, but hey. I'll be that lower 1% :).

I remember back in 1E we got line drawings and we were happy! Plus it gave me something to color in during detention.
