D&D 5E How Many Classes Have You Tried?

From 5E?

Fighter
Hunter Ranger
Moon Druid
Arcane Trickster Rogue
Way of the Four Elements Monk
Oath of Vengeance Paladin
Light Cleric

I can recall from the top of my head, some of these were only for one off games however.

A battle master fighter for 4 levels and an oath of ancients paladin for 12 levels. Both pretty fun. Next is gnome illusionist (if I can come up with good uses for illusion spells).

But have you played every class? I have seen a whole lot of classes in action as a DM but that isn't the same experience as playing them.
Well, playing at the table with them gives you plenty of time to think about what you would do in the situation if you were playing that character. So after a couple of sessions, figuring out the mechanics of the class is kind of a solved problem.

I haven't been able to play much, as opposed to DMing. Just two 5E characters:

Bard (no subclass yet)

Oath of the Ancients paladin

Very first character I played (which I think the guy was using 1st Edition rules, maybe 2nd) was a pregen character the DM gave me, a Thief/Rogue.

In 2nd Edition I mainly DM'd, but in the few times I got to play I remember playing a Blade-Bard.

In 3rd/3.5 Edition I played a Fighter/Cleric/Barbarian in a home campaign, a Gunslinger in a D20 Modern home campaign, a Ranger/Rogue/Shadowdancer in a Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil Module. My primary Living Greyhawk characters were a Figher/Wizard/Spellsword and a Ranger/Druid/Beastmaster.

Now in 5th Edition, I have a Cleric/Fighter (Battlemaster) who I've spent the most time on, as well as a single game as a Warlock.

Of all the characters I think I had the most fun (mechanically) with the Shadowdancer, but my favorite character (RP-wise) overall was my Spellsword. Since it was Living Greyhawk, and I was going to conventions at the time, it was really awesome to sit down at a table of strangers in another state and have someone go, "I've heard about you!" as soon as I did my character introduction.

I mostly DM, but have managed to play so far:

Assassin Rogue (mad good fun on a busy battlefield)
Circle of Moon Druid (and likewise an amazingly fun class)

This is the first edition in some time where I'm getting regular action as a player as well as a DM. It's like the extra course of an already-great meal.

Butch Uprise, variant human battle master fighter (folk hero)
Friar Griftheart, variant human diviner wizard (charlatan)
Tailor Swift, wood elf monk/sorcerer (guild artisan)
Chuck Dagger, variant human thief rogue (criminal)
Falsetto Jones, variant human college of lore bard (charlatan)
Hex Arcana, tiefling fiend pact warlock (criminal)

I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Deceased or retired
Evocation Wizard 1 (deceased, first session)
Paladin 2 (game ended)
Eldritch Knight 4 (game ended)
Paladin 1 / Bard 1 (game ended)
Halfling Beastmaster Ranger 4 (deceased, reincarnated, retired)
Death cleric 5 (deceased, second or third session)
Mounted Combatant PAM Hunter Spell-less Ranger 8 (game ended)
Socerer 1 / Fighter 2 (deceased, second or third session)
Death cleric 1 (deceased, first session)
Paladin 2 / Fiend Warlock 1 (retired for plot reasons)
Enchanter wizard 3 (deceased)
Moon druid 2 (retired)
Life cleric 5 (deceased)

Actively playing
Rogue 1 / fighter 2 (brought in one session ago, almost died after being critted on the first attack of the game)
Divination wizard 6 / knowledge cleric 1 (longest surviving character: over a year! Also got critted and almost died in first session)

I seem to have really bad luck when bringing in new characters. They all have the horrible habit of dying on me. I've also played a couple of other characters for a session or two when my primary character is off doing something for an extended period.
