i have more lead minis than i have dice.

i started with wargames and progressed to roleplaying.

i also bought into the whole Dragon Dice thingie.:o i'm embarrassed about that.

I have four sets I bring to gaming sessions; plus another four that stay home (including my old Basic & Expert boxed set dice).

'Course, if I ever need dice, I can always ask diaglo since I game with him. His dice collection must be seen to be believed.

My first year I keep to 1 set of red marbled dice. Then I started a bad habit. Any time I go to a convention or a new hobby store, I buy a complete set. Now, about 25+ sets later I find I carry a very heavy bag. I need a bag of Holding in reality just to carry them!

Hurmmm...red speckled with black...ain't got yet.......

The Chessex booth at GenCon features several giant kegs of dice, into which you can dip a mug or a salad bowl. It's about $6 for a mug o' dice, and about $30 for a salad bowl -- and there are some very cool dice mixed in with the more ordinary ones.

These days, the folks running the booth keep you from being sneaky about how you dip your bowl, but for a couple of years it was OK to wrap your arms around the bowl, dip it, and keep everything that came up. That's a lot of dice for $30 -- several hundred at a minimum -- and it's a fun way to buy them.

I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,200-1,400, and two bowls o' dice make up a large part of that. :D

I'm right here. Sorry I didn't see this post sooner.

I have about 2,000 dice of which roughly 1,500 are not duplicates in the collection.

I have dice with the following number of sides: 2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,16,20,24,30,32,34,50 and 100. This excludes dice that are numbered 1 to x several times such as d3s that are cubes numbered 1,1,2,2,3,3.

Here's a pic of some of my stranger dice...
