Well SO-O-ORY!

As I said I'm new to DnD and as you can see by the poll results over half of the people have LESS THAN 100+. I agree I should have made more poll choices for the upper end but most reasonable people would probably think that owning over 100+ dice is a bit much....considering most dice look almost exactly the same and don't vary all that much.

It would be one thing if you owned over 100+ miniatures - at least miniatures look significantly different and can be used to add flavor to the game. Dice can be cool and fun to collect but after a while I would think if you've seen one die, you've seen 'em all.

I have about 40 dice or so. Not many, but not bad considering I've only been gaming for about 2 years.

I have 3 sets and a bunch of d6's:
-The boxed set(The one with the multicolored dice)
-Black & Red
-Glittery Blue Translucent
-Black with Gray specs

A quick count revealed I only had 98 in my travelling dicebag. So I had to go out and get more. I usually go out and buy a set of dice e season when I'm regularly playing.

My older dice usually dont like this though, so I have to introduce the new ones gradually so as to minimise any hurt feelings.

I have exactly 48 dice:

- 2 sets of the normal 8-dice package (one for home, one for travelling),
- 24 d6's in 4 different colors (used for monster tokens),
- the 6 plastic dice that came with the basic D&D red box,
- the funky purple d6 that came in Dragon not too long ago,
- a normal white d6 with the "Ghostbusters" symbol where the "1" is supposed to be. What's up with that?

And I've been gaming for more than a decade.

The number has varied between 30ish and 70ish over the past few years. I never lose any dice (that's a mortal sin IMO), but I do give them to my wife, kids, and friends if they fancy a particular die or set. Not only does gifting dice make me feel good, but it provides me with a good excuse to go buy more :D!!

Right now I'm hovering around 50 dice total (six sets plus some extras), and plan to buy a special (which is to say, convention) set at GenCon next month.

30. Five of each (d4-d20). If a spell requires more rolling, I'll roll more dice after counting the first roll. If the rolling gets up into the 20+ number of dice, I'll usually take average (or I'll use a maximize :-). Later.
