I gotta say... I'd rather play other non-dnd games rather than go back to an pre-3e edition of D&D.

I'd play any 1E or 2E game, if a good Dm was running it. As the two editions almost overlap, I don't see a massive difference between the two, having played and run in both.

I grew tired of 3E, and decided to start running 1st Edition again. And I'm having a blast running the games and designing the adventures. The ratio of fun to work is much more favorable with 1st Edition than 3.x - at least for me.

Happy to

I'd happily play OD&D (1974) with most of the material from Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry, Gods, Demi-gods and Heroes, and The Strategic Review mixed in. Preferably using either the Wilderlands of High Fantasy or First Fantasy Campaign (Blackmoor) as the setting.

In a heartbeat. I came to DnD late so only played a few years before 3.0 came out. But I have a huge collection of old modules that look like a lot of fun to run through espically some of the Forgotten Realms.

I am up to trying anything with a good group and DM

No, I'd likely not play a previous edition. My time is extremely limited nowadays, so it pretty much precludes me from playing any older edition.
