I plan to run a basic game with my 3.5 group soon. I picked up the original boxed sets on ebay along with a few modules that I'll be running (Keep on the Borderlands anyone?). I can't help but smirk when all 6 players make their characters in under 6 minutes.

That's the module I'm using for my group. :)

It was funny seeing some of the reactions from people when I told them "By the rules, you roll 3d6, no rerolls, and you have to roll the stats in order, Str, Int, Wis, Dex, Con, Cha... it was over a forum thread, but I could just imagine their eyes bugging out. heh.

I was able to get 3rd edition Basic Set (colour box with fighter and MU attacking dragon), as well as the newer '81 edition of Basic D&D and the Expert D&D boxed sets as well.

This is gonna be fun. :)

I would rather have my eyelids cut off and be bound in front of a TV showing a Star Trek: Voyager marathon than go back to an edition before 3E.

I'd play anything under a really good GM.

I'm willing to play 3rd+ ed under a mediocre or even bad GM.

I'm totally unwilling to play prior editions of D&D under a mediocre or worse GM.

I'd be willing to play OD&D exactly as written, just for the experience

AD&D? Nah, I'd skip. The shift from OD&D to AD&D was at the time when I left D&D. Didn't return until 3e came out.

Ah, but I gamed all the time inbetween
