Well, shards of glass into heart have to equal either nayt 1 on saving throw, or a critical hit by the lamp.....

The stove rolled a successful on its DC to heat up the lamp, and the lamp criticaled, rolling a natural 20, then ruolling another natural twenty for a lethal hit, then the man died.

Anyway, this is pretty sad. No parent should have to outlive their children. My sympathy for the soul this happened to.

my guess is that he was for some reason trying to quickly get it to do it's lavalamp thing... They work through heat, because of a tiny light bulb in the base...
