How often do you game/How much is too much?

We game once every two weeks, for about 8-9 hours, like clockwork.

Anything more than once every two weeks is too much for me.

Every other week I have my weekend so of geekitude - in which I run one six hour game on Saturday afternoon and play in a six hour game on Sunday afternoon - this leaves the weekends free for drinking, dancing and women.

How much gaming?

Not nearly enough...

Every other Saturday from 5:30 - 8:30 / 9

Another game is occasional Saturdays, or Sunday if that weekend falls on a week with my other game, for about 6 or 7 hours. Sounds like a lot, but many weeks can go by between sessions, and sometimes we can only manage 4 or 5 hours.

On the 1st game I always DM, the 2nd one we switch off every now and then. Right now I'm DMing both, so I'm at maximum capacity.

I'd like to find another game to just play in though...maybe on a weeknight every or every other week, for a few hours.

Nowadays I only get to game when I go visiting friends in another part of the country (see my .sig). Before I moved here I used to play for about 6 hours twice a week.

My ideal would be to play five eight-hours sessions per week, of which I would be willing to GM two, maybe three--like what I used to do when I was at University.

Once a week, every Sunday. We usually start around noon and go until around 10 pm. I DM.

With summer here, we may try another short session sometime during the week so I can get a little playing time in.

I'm gettin' my fill I guess.

used to play in 3 games a week. since then, i've quit one, and the other seems to be on extended hiatus. the one game per week i play now, usually runs for 10-12 hours. we've even had a few sessions run 17-19 hours! i'd play more if i could. sadly, there are only 7 24hr days in a week. someone really ought to fix that.

Currently once a week, and that depends on everyone being available [darn Real Life]. In the past I've gamed more than that, including a few months where I was gaming 6-7 days a week, literally eat-sleep-game, with any intervals filled by on-line RPing. A fun time, but a little out of touch with reality, and probably the reason I almost dropped out that year

Usually two or three times per month. During the summer months our schedules are all screwed up and we are lucky to play once per month then.

Years and years ago, my first gaming group would sometimes play twice per week in the summer months but then drop to once per week in the winter.

Every Sunday from 12 to 5. In college we gamed every Friday aternoon till it became Sunday night every weekend (quite literally we would game till we dropped Friday night get up Saturday morning take a shower and go back to gaming till we dropped Saturday night and repeat on Sunday). That was great then but now the real world demands that I do more than game and eat pizza every weekend, besides I'm to old to put in a 40 hour weekend just gaming. I'd like to game more than once a week now but 5 hours a week is pushing it for 6 thirtysomethings with families as is.

As for your friend, if it's causing him to perform poorly at work then he is probably gaming too much. Getting fired from your job because you game all night instead of sleeping would probably be a problem in the real world.
