How to grapple with a fighter?

He meant Combat Reflexes allows a flat-footed character to still get an AoO... I love giving it to Ogres for that very reason

Slit his throat during your watch shift at night. Don't say anything, pass a note to the DM and have him tell the other PC. Not a valiant fight, but a victory, and that sir is what you asked for.

I dunno, I would assume you could do your little stab, stab, pin...assuming your already grappling. In theory using the "escape from Pin" would be considered an attack action, although if the fighter didn't want to put up much fuss he could allow you to go back to grappling. However, after a round of getting poked with a sword, he may want to stay pinned and so might have you make grapple checks to move from pinned to grappled.

DANGIT, I swear I read somewhere recently about rules for choking someone while grappling. And I really thought it was in Modern d20 but I can't find it now. So, I'm not really sure where it is now, but hopefully a spark of rememberance will get me to find it.

thanks for the responses.
if it helps, i have a higher str, so i plan to win more grapple checks. equal BAB and size though, so i won't have more than a +3 advantage. Since we have probably almost equal hp's...i just need a little edge. a round or two of him bleeding while i take no damage in a clinch might make the dif

Oriental adventures?

Hey Tellerve, there is a feat in oriental adventures called choke hold. Is that what you were thinking of.

Also, oriental adventures has tons of great feats for grappling.

Nope that wasn't what I was thinking of, although that would work. I have, however, found what I was looking for, and indeed it is in Modern d20. I'm so glad I found it as I thought I was going crazy.

page 214, Strangulation. Basically you do an opposed grapple check, (assuming your already in a grapple) and if the grapple succeds you do damage and can start to choke. It is a bit different than normal, though, since it says the victim can hold their breath for a number of rounds equal to their constitution which I think isn't the same for normal Dnd. After that time they start to suffocate as per the normal rules for suffocation.

Go for disarms. Disarm both his weapons (they are smaller than yours) wielding your sunblade twohanded, then start the grapple!

actually i don't have to wield the sunblade two handed do i?
that only gives a +4 for the defender weapons right?
i have improved disarm and i'm planning on taking "strike at the tail" when i level up this week.
strike at the tail lets me get another immediate attack if i successfully disarm (just like improved trip)
so with my 3 attacks I'll
1. disarm
free disarm on off hand
2. grapple (no attack of opportunity cause he has no weapon and therefore does not threaten me, right? he doesn't have improved unarmed strike)
3. pin

on his turn he has to spend at least two of his attacks to escape the grapple. one to escape the pin, one to escape the grapple. that means he has to take the full attack action. so even if he does escape he can't pick up his weapon (move equivalent action). all he can do is hit me with his fist (which won't do much from a weapon master specialized in longswords).

on my turn i'd just grapple him again (if he is ungrappled) stab in the clinch and finish by trying to pin.

if he did somehow manage to be ungrappled on his turn, he'd have to spend a move action to pick up his weapon, and my attack of opportunity would be a grapple that would probably lock him up

few questions: am i right when i said if he's unarmed he can't make attacks of opportunity? or am i making stuff up in my head?
two: can you let go of a pin as a free action?
three: attacking with a light weapon in a grapple. do you have to make an opposed grapple check to do it? or a regular attack roll? look at bottom of page 137 for rule. to "damage your opponent" takes a successful grapple check. but it doesn't say for weapons.
