How to handle drunkeness

How would you handle a drunk character in a fight? I was thinking a bonus to con and a minus on attack rolls, either -1 or -2. Anyone have a system for this?

There's some precedent for this...

1) drunken master from sword & fist ...course, thats only for drunken masters, but you could get a level in that or something.

2) 'celebrate' spell from magic of faerun-effects vary depending on drunkenness, including -2 to int, wis and dex, nauseated, up to helpless.

I would NOT give any sort of bonus unless they were a drunken master.

How about penalty to attack rolls, increased chance of critical fumble, reduced movement rate, and high chance of failure for any spells with verbal or somatic components.

I'd treat it as a poison with a varying amount of wisdom damage as initial damage and dexterity as secondary. Something like a -1 to hit/2 points of ability damage taken, with a similar penalty to all Cha based skill checks. As a special effect, the damage is healed at a rate of 1 point/hour. Remember that each drink is another effective "dose".

Mildly:
-2 effective decrease to Dex, Int and Wis and the ability to become disabled at -1 instead of 0.

Moderately:
-4 effective decrease to Dex, Int, and Wis, the ability to become disabled at -3 instead of 0, and partial actions only. Spellcasting requires a Concentration check (DC ?) or suffer a mishap (per scrolls).

Severely:
-4 effective descrease to Dex, Int, and Wis, -2 effective decrease to Str and Cha, 1 point of Dex and Wis damage (Fort DC 11) per extra drink, the ability to become disabled at -5 instead of 0, partial actions only, and a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls. Spellcasting requires a Concentration check (DC ?+10) or suffer a mishap (per scrolls).

T&T has rules on alcohol as a poison, but I can't recall them off the top of my head.

If no one else posts them before tomorrow, I'll try to look them up tonight.
