How to PCs carry all their stuff?

my current players load everything up on the Paladins warhorse and send it back to heaven or where ever it lives. When they need stuff they summon the horse and unload. not sure what the horse thinks of it all, he doesnt get to do much of that glamorous charging into battle stuff at all.

I remember reading an article in Dragon about Marius' Mules. Roman legionairres humped about 115 pounds worth of gear regularly. Yeesh.

A quiver isn't really an issue. You can put that at your side, on your back, heck , even on the side of your bow if you don't mind the anachronism. But, three or four quivers are a bit much. :)

Wagons tend to feature heavily in our campaigns. A couple of horses and a cart and you can carry just about anything.

Of course, never mind the ten foot pole - how about that longspear? :)

Usually, if the equipment with within light encumbrance it's not a big deal. If the equipment is in heavy encumbrance... well, the penalty is that they're encumbered.

Every once in a while it can get out of hand, but I think a lot of players are reasonable.

Yep, Heward's Handy Haversack is almost always one of the first Magical Items I get, ignoring potions, scrolls, and the rare time when we happen to find +1 armor of my character's type.
Yep, I normally do that too.

I debating whether to give my newest character one: They're great, but I've only got 2500 gp left after buying my armour and 2000 gp is a fairly large chunk of that.

At the first opportunity, any adventurer worth their salt will invest in something to hold the swag. Bag of holding, heward's handy haversack, portable hole, etc.
My other favourite is a castle... :D
