How would YOU change Shadowdark?

In answer to the OP...very lightly.

I like some of @SlyFlourish house rules (especially the Dying one), but the core of Shadowdark, lands so perfectly for me there is very little I dislike or even am slightly annoyed with, seriously little.

I may have to write a love letter post to it at some point.

I do like it at its silly, irreverent, and pulpy, but I also just love the fact that the core book is the whole game, and then its bonus from the Cursed Scrolls.

And the Magic system is perfection, sorry not sorry.

I dont know, right place, right time, right tone, right presentation, its just exactly what I'm looking for right now.

When did the definition of "adventure" universally shift to "full campaign"?

If there is one change in the industry in the last 10 years, that is the one I would delete in heartbeat.

I'd even take some akin to an old school module. Is that in the mag? Like what are we talking about in the mag here?

In our Wednesday game death is at zero HP and I’ve noticed something about game play that I like. Healing isn’t reserved it’s used in battle and other players are more mindful of the healers in tactics and strategy. There isn’t the “pop up” player phenomenon either. It’s been much more fun running a cleric in this style.
Also that “death save” tension is always there.

So death at zero hp I’d like to try, with the right players. But then again anyone willing to okay Shadowdark would be.
