You hit me at the wrong time. I'm playing in three games. 2 of them basically have DMs who should not be DMs. They have the enthusism but not the knowledge of the game system or the willininess to put in the time to createa good game. And it shows. One is a short few weeks game of Grimm so I'm just going with the flow on that one since it will end soon. The other some of the players are seriously thinking of dropping and thus killing the game.

The third game has potential. We've only played twice, and we don't play often. every second or third week. But the group is pretty good, we have fun, but I'm the new guy to the group and I am the most active player. And that's not good, because I'm not a very good player.

This is the first D&D game our GM has gamed. He doesn't have a lot of experience with D&D in general, he used to play a different system. He has a lot of polishing to do.

I'm running about...oh...seven or eight at the moment. So...which one? :p
Average them all, explain in the thread? :\

... Well, why not?

I must sadly confess, I do not seem to be "in the zone" right now. I don't find my idea flowing together as easily as my first few years under 3e. I am in sort of a creative slump.

Well, I'm rusty as hell, experimenting with new house rules, and the player dynamic just hasn't "clicked" yet. I voted a 6, since the players all seem to be having a lot of fun, and I think the issues I just listed are slowly improving.

I'm hoping over the next couple sessions it'll improve to an 8 or so. They've just gotten off the planet they started on (it's a Dragonstar game), so the plot should start advancing now.

Alrighty. Thinking on that, I'd say about a six overall. A couple of my games have been kicking since the begining, great for me to run and and the players seem to have enjoyed them, too. One game had to get some new blood into it, but that sure jump started it and its moving so fast I'm amazed with it.

Sadly, though, a couple of them are just plodding along slowly and can't seem to get anywhere no matter how hard I try. But ah well, tis the nature of play by post games.

The players and the GM (me) for our current campaign love it. Since I invite a lot of player input, and let player character actions affect the world at large at Legendary Levels (80+) the players have had a lot to do with the setting.

However, things changed.

The players made a mistake, then followed the wrong trail, then ignored something, then lost the most important battle of thier Legendary careers.

So, we talked it over, talked about the fact I've been DMing for these guys for 7 years. That's awhile. That some of them have GM'd FR and other settings, but know more about our homebrew.

So, we decided what had happened to the world, how bad it was per section, and divided up the world between 3 GM's. Each of us took 2 continents and the surroundings.

In my area, the whole world has blown back to Stone/Bronze/Iron Age, with superstitious natives running around. There are Aztec/Incan/Bantu-like civilizations, and the old civilization that the world is built on the bones of was Egyptian Mythos, Roman Architecture, Japanese Customs, Minoan Dress. (It'll come in later more than now)

So, I did up my section, populated it, made the threats and problems, and since I finished first, I got GM first.

So far, the player's love it. They're mud wearing, loincloth waving, totem worshipping savages without a single social grace (One of them weilded a crossbow for 6 gaming sessions like a military pick because he'd never seen a crossbow) and while highly intelligent (some of them) they're REALLY IGNORANT!

So I guess I'd rate it at a 10. Sure, I've got a problem player or two, but we've been gaming together for years, and for the most part, we can pretty much get along and deal with it.

Of course, we kind of have a rough and tumble style of play that sometimes ignores the rules for the story/action, and has at times, involved paintball guns, bottles of whiskey, fist fights in the front yard, and once, a parakeet cage getting hit with a 5-iron and parakeet feathers exploding everywhere.

Mindblowing!

They surprise me at every step... roleplay their characters amazingly well...are creative in their tactics and spell-use....e-mail me if they have any questions or problems, and have challenged me to learn the rules just as well as they do. I look forward to playing and they show the same enthusiasm as I do. They are my dream game group, and I tell them often that I am both proud of them and extremely satisfied with our games.

We just passed the year one mark and I can't wait for the next!
