HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

The door to the Ready Lounge opens and in steps a tall, broad shouldered figure whose appearance is concealed by hat and trench coat.

"Well, I guess this is the place." he mumbles in a deep voice. "It's cozy enough I suppose, but a far cry from the ocean depths I love so much...".

He continues scanning the room looking for other occupants.

Fading into view in front of one of the TVs is a fairly typical male chinese youth of about 17 years age. Well, except for the fact that he is all various tones grayish white and translucent. But, other than that, pretty normal. ;-)

He says, "Hiya. I did not think anyone else was around. I am Ghost by the way. I am new here..."

After a second he adds, " Yeah the oceans rock mostly. Although, when I came to the US the first time, they were pretty boring after the first day or so. (smiles) I am not the fastest flyer around I guess. (bobs up and down slowly passing partially through his chair)"

"Pleased to meet you Ghost, I am called Aquaphibian".

He pushes up his hat to expose most of his face.

"My real name seems irrelevant at this point, this monsterous form I have now cannot be undone. At least not by any means I have been able to find so far."

"So here we are. Major Nueworth told me to wait here until something came up, but it looks like most of the Resolutes are out already on assignment. What about you Ghost, have you been with the Resolutes long?"

He pushes up his hat to expose most of his face.

Ghost replies, "Well that fits, and is a least a bit more creative than 'Ghost.' But, then the Chinese transalations I tried for various plays on spirit or ghost just did not come across so well in english.", he shrugs. Ghost seems to be completely unsurprised at the revelation of Aquaphibians form, in fact he does not seem to be aware Aquaphibian was hiding anything in the first place. OOC: skill focus w/ spot at 25 and x-ray vision... ;-)

Ghost laughs good naturedly, "Think you got problems eh? Well I suppose so you do. Still, wanna trade being dead and incorporeal? Talk about my social life taking a major header, and just try to get your drivers license renewed."

"So here we are. Major Nueworth told me to wait here until something came up, but it looks like most of the Resolutes are out already on assignment. What about you Ghost, have you been with the Resolutes long?"

Ghost nods, "That do seem to be the case bro. This is my first mission too... Or, it will be my first mission anyway. And those bad guys are goin' be mown over just like fresh cut clover. ", he smiles and pantomimes punching half-seriously, half-jokingly while he is still seated.

He then proceeds to offer, "Chill and take a load off if you want.". He waves a hand at the nearby seats

"yeah, I guess driver's license renewals are the least of your problems. Go figure..."

Aquaphibian moves over to a couch (with surprising agility for someone of his size) and takes a seat.

"Let's see what's on the News..."

Ghost shrugs, "Awww... boring. Besides, the cartoon network is just as informative as US news media. (grin) But, sure bro, I am no remote hog. . . Plenty of time for western anime later right?"

Ghost TKs remote toward Aquaphibian, looking first to make sure he did not get any ectoplasm on it. He figures Aquaphibian probably knows more about western TV channels than he does.

Flipping through the channels doesn't reveal much of interest. Aquaphibian leaves the TV on a local news channel and looks around the Ready Lounge.

"Look over there Ghost, a computer terminal. Maybe we can log in and read up on other members of the Resolutes? I'll bet we can get information on current activities in the field..."

Aquaphibian sits down at the terminal, logs in, and starts browsing through the member and mission archives.

Ghost floats on over to see whats what and says, "Sounds like a plan. No commercials either."

Intrepid enters

"But plenty of pop-ups," says Intrepid as he enters the Lounge. "And, in my opinion, worse than a lifetime of infomercials."

Intrepid smiles and strides across the room to join the others, his long suede trench coat flapping about his legs. As he walks he reaches into a pocket and pulls out a pack of cigarettes, expertly tapping one from the pack.

"Hi, the name's Intrepid. Mind if I smoke?"

"But plenty of pop-ups," says Intrepid as he enters the Lounge. "And, in my opinion, worse than a lifetime of infomercials."]

Ghost looks over at the new commer as he approaches and replies, "
"Dude, no way. There are pop up blockers. And, if you disable flash, you barely even notice those ads. Can't do that with the tube. Although, there is always Tivo to strip commercials. . ."

Intrepid smiles and strides across the room to join the others, his long suede trench coat flapping about his legs. As he walks he reaches into a pocket and pulls out a pack of cigarettes, expertly tapping one from the pack.

"Hi, the name's Intrepid. Mind if I smoke?"

Ghost laughs and says, "Sure, light 'er up bro." He then passes his hand though his own body, demonstrating his incorporealness, and making it pretty clear he can carry nothing, and continues, "I am Ghost, and this is Aquaphibian. I hate to be a mooch, but could you spot me a lit one?"

"Ghost and Aquaphibian, huh?"

Intrepid studies the two heroes sitting at the computer terminal. Their appearances were far from normal, but he’d seen stranger things since becoming a 'superhero'. Heck, his best friend, Plight, was as butt-ugly as they came; that didn’t make him any less human. So, a little oddness was fine by him. Just so long as they got my back when the chips are down.

Tapping out a second cigarette, Intrepid lights both and passes one to Ghost. This should be interesting, he thinks, trying his best to figure out exactly how a phantasm inhales.

"Found anything interesting in The Resolute database?"
