Hulking Hurler Stone Giant question

Howdy.

If a stone giant with the hulking hurler prestige class from CW took the trick Meteoric Strike, how would that benefit his damage? As worded, it appears to add bonus (written as "extra") damage, meaning you would simply add twice the strenth bonus to his total damage dealt. I'm wondering how this would work in combination with using 2 hands to throw rocks for stone giants. For example, if the giant's strenth bonus was say +8, which of these is correct:

1. 1.5*8 (for throwing with 2 hands)+2*8(one interpretation of meteoric strike)=+28 damage for strength alone.
2. 2.5*8 (using multiplicative rule)=+20 strength damage

This difference could get much more substantial with some tweaking. Thanks.

Option #3 is correct. Ban the Hulking Hurler. In fact, ban anything with 'hulk' in the name. If you don't choose that option, then choose whichever one exacerbates the hulk problem the least (i.e. 2).

Neither. Using the trick requires the hurler to throw the rock with two hands, subsuming any previous benefits for throwing with two hands.

So, your stone giant would get +16 damage. (Strength x 2, just like the trick says)

ok, I see my mistake now...that's good for the adventurers. thanks.

The thing is, a hulking hurler really shouldn't need any additional help turning players into paste. :p

Have you considered just putting all its feats into increasing survivability? Giants don't generally have very good will saves, and a hulking hurler giant is one spell away from being the PCs' best friend . . .

Yep, I was going to give him some item that protects against mind-affecting/charm spells to combat that issue, or maybe just iron will>endurance>indomitable will. The pcs are only 1st level, so this is a LONG time away. Heck, I might even add a few levels of master thrower. ;)

I'm sure he's going to show some restraint, and let the PC's get to 3rd level before letting this guy loose on him! He might even let them get to 5th, but to wait any longer would mean that giant might have to deal with Pun-Pun and His Amazing Friends, and we can't let THAT happen... that would almost be a balanced enounter!

OK, that's enough. Some people plan further ahead than others, I suppose.
