Hulking Hurler Stone Giant question

I already have everything finished up through 10th level, mostly just with using the Slaughtergarde campaign and then moving straight into Red Hand of Doom. This dude would be a general of the BBEG who they will meet at some point...it will be what they'll deal with AFTER RHoD. I had to tie them together somehow...and don't feel sorry for the pcs, as they each have intelligent items that gain abilities at each level. I haven't decided where or when I will use him just yet...I might even introduce him fairly early on as a regular stone giant, and if he gets away...recurring villains are fun.

A stone giant question:
Why can't a stone giant make 2 throws during a full attack action? I mean, if he was standing right next to a pile of rocks, shouldn't he be able to throw 2 rocks? I don't see it as any different than grabbing an arrow out of a quiver and nocking it. The hulking hurler example let's him do 2 attacks, but without the 2-handed throwing bonus, as if he was throwing 1-handed....weird.

It's more akin to throwing an axe. You need to have Quickdraw to get more than one attack; you must spend a move action to draw a rock otherwise. (At least, that's my reading of it.)

Good point. I'll make sure he has quickdraw. ;)

Pawsplay is simply very convinced of his ideas regarding balance, and is not shy about telling people what they are. ;)

Back on topic, you probably want to go with feats rather than the item, because if the players defeat him, one of them has just gained an enormously useful (and plotbreaking) immunity.

To be fair to me, moritheil, I think it should be mentioned that I was one of the helpers who helped push the Warhulking Hurler past the one million d6 mark on wizards.com. The Hulking Hurler is simply the most broken thing I can think of that works as intended by the rules (but with unintended consequences). The War Hulk is only an accessory to his crime.

Do you happen to have a link to that?

Yes, lets see how this is done. Because I'm looking over the hurler and while it can throw some really heavy rocks, there is a great deal of haze in the hitting foe with said rock department to get that many D6s.

Were folks just assuming the HH could chuch the rock more or less strait up to fall back down into the targets space?

Even Abusing the fact a fly spell gets to use you own STR to carry crap, moving to above target darn high still gets 20d6 besides stones weight. 200lb per 1d6 sounds difficult to get to the milions.
