Hyena-Chucks

Ok, so here's the situation. I'm playing an Orcish Dragon Disciple. As you might imagine, I have an incredibly high strength, and a decent BaB. I also enjoy the occasional use of Enlarge Person. Since it's only a -20 to grapple things with only one hand, I found myself with a total +1 modifier to such a check. I decided to test it out against a hyena, and successfully plucked it from the ground.

So, in such a situation, how much damage does a hyena do, when weilded as a melee weapon against, say, an Ogre? Does the Ogre take all the damage, the hyena, or is it split? Is there a precident in RAW that I'm missing (other than that when one creature falls into another creature, the split the damage)? I understand that I'll be taking a -4 to hit for being non proficient. That does not concern me overmuch.

Awesome. This reminds me of the "gnome hurler" character a friend of mine built. :p He would outfit his gnomes in spiked armor to rule out the possibility of soft impacts.

Its a flail wielded by Flinds (MM2?) that does more damage than usual. They're not that cool, or else my flinds would be using them :)

I wanna see what the rest of the board says about this one. My first thought (until Isaw the author :)) was fuzzy sneakers :)

Oh god, what the hell is a Flindbar?

Grug the orc entered the tavern and looked around. Nothing but gnolls and flinds....it suddenly occurred to him he was in a flindbar.

Seriously, though, I'd just say 1d8 damage. They are heavy, but not hard. Also a -4 to hit with it.

I thought the Flindbar as well. ;)

The SRD on improvised weapons says

Sometimes objects not crafted to be weapons nonetheless see use in combat. Because such objects are not designed for this use, any creature that uses one in combat is considered to be nonproficient with it and takes a -4 penalty on attack rolls made with that object. To determine the size category and appropriate damage for an improvised weapon, compare its relative size and damage potential to the weapon list to find a reasonable match. An improvised weapon scores a threat on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. An improvised thrown weapon has a range increment of 10 feet.

which is not so telling. Possibly a d8 for base, + 1 increase size for size and 1- step for its squishy nature bringing it back down to a d8? Possibly someone else will have something more substantial. :uhoh:

This is all your fault, you know. If you hadn't given me the wand of Enlarge Person, I wouldn't be humongoid all the time.
