D&D General I am so done with kickstarter

I've backed 16 projects. None failed to deliver after taking funds (a couple were canceled, but they didn't take my money either)
Yeah, same here, though I'm rather picky and stick with folks with a track record. Big delays do occur, particularly recently. Currently waiting on the Call of Cthulu anniversary box set, Avatar, MST3K part 3, and Brandon Sanderson, but I have complete confidence in delivery from all four.

Disappointed. Kind of hard to get started then.... But I understand.
IMO, creators who want to get started need to start small, and be honest about the risk of supporting them. To me, that's pretty critical. If a creator is clear, and isn't asking for a lot of money, then they are more likely to get support for a cool idea. But if they don't acknowledge or even understand their are risks, that tells me they still have lots of "business" to learn and I don't care to support their learning.

I've backed ~60. One video game, a few random things, but mostly board games and RPG materials.

17 have not delivered at all yet. 11 are late. The other 6 are not scheduled to deliver until later this year or next year.

3 have partially delivered, but significant parts are still to come and are late.

10 involved unethical behavior. This included intentional misrepresentation, selling in stores before delivering to backers, lying to backers about their challenges, and gross mismanagement of their campaign to the point where they couldn't performed what they intended.

Very few delivered on time. Most delivered substantially late. Only 1 delivered early.

You can't start small with some ideas. Most anything physical needs to be made in large amounts to make money.
