Dislike 3E? Can't go that far. I dislike 3E above level 14. I dislike alignment being integral to the system. I dislike the prestige class and christmas tree ideas. But 3E has been fairly fun up to now.
I still play 3rd edition. i dislike higher levels more and more, but I like the mechnics for low level and low level play, so i went with: i dislike neither
I am not sure what the point of this poll is other than to polarize. People have likes and dislikes and 4E is yet to be released for anyone to fully opine on anything.
I voted dislike 3e, but it's not that I never had fun with the system. It was great for 8 years of fantasy action fun. But after 8 years, the flaws start coming to the forefront and it's hard to enjoy DMing it anymore. In general, I'm just tired of it. If 4e wasn't coming out, I'd probably have already switched to True20, but with 4e on the horizon I'm just waiting.
The more I played 3E the less I liked it and I have pretty actively disliked it for a while now.
But the D&D/Fantasy style of gameplay is my favorite, and since 3E is better than 2E or 1E or most of the d20 3E varients, I grinned and bore 3.5E up until I stepped down from playing table-top RPGs a little over a year ago.
4E has totally rejuvinated my interest in sitting down at a table and playing a fantasy RPG again, I am really looking forward to get back to playing and can't wait to write up my first 4E character.
That's close to my opinion. I wouldn't say I dislike 3rd edition. However, it was getting more and more frustrated running it. More and more I was experimenting with campaigns using Heroquest, Savage Worlds, etc. because the work of running 3rd edition was taking away my fun of running it.
I'm only 95% sure that 4E is going to be the system for me at this point. However, if I don't go 4E I will likely go with another system rather than continue 3E for any length of time.
