so which demihuman deities get full write ups? and which get little ones. and what info on organisation/dogma etc do the little write ups have?

I didn't see this answered yet, so I'll ask: Do any of the mayor gods not have the 20 Outsider HD because they are ascended mortals? (I'm thinking mostly of Mystra and Cyric - though Mystra might have "inherited" them from the old Mystra?)

Yes. Azuth, for instance. He has hit dice for his classes, but no outsider hit dice. The same for Bane, Cyric, Kelemvor, Mystra, Torm and Uthgar; who all ascended to divinity.

Eilistraee and Lolth are the only non-human deities who get full write ups. Well, Kossuth too, if that counts.

The rest get small write ups like the deity section of the FRCS. The information on organization and dogma for the minor deities seems to be pretty much the same as written in Demihuman Deities for 2nd Edition, but updated a bit to bring it to 1372 DR.

I've read it uses metamagic in a new way (mantle and cloak of mysteries?). How does it work?

The mantle lets you to pick a spell (arcane or divine) that you can cast spontaneously by sacrificing a spell of equal level or higher of the same type (again arcane or divine).

The cloak just takes 1 level from the cost of metamagic feats, unless the spell has no metamagic level adjustment. So a silenced levitate is still a 2nd level spell instead of 1st, but a quickened fireball is 6th instead of 7th. Pretty neat, but as the 10th level class ability you'd need to be 19th level to get it.

Oh yeah, and..

One interesting/sensible sidebar.

The full list of nature deities is given, with a caveat that if you're a druid and your nature deity has a favored weapon that is not on the druid's list, you can use that weapon without violating your spiritual oaths. Quite a nice touch, I thought.

Paladin: Where do you get your books? I recently moved to Waxahachie and the only place I know of that has gaming books is Hastings. Is there, perhaps, some some sort of shop I'm unaware of?
