I got Faiths & Pantheons!

This question might have already been answered...but here it is...

Back in the old grey box set, the goddess Sune was believed to be the goddess Athena (I think they made an error with this and really wanted Aprhodite!)

Is there any mention of the Sune being Aphrodite from the Greek pantheon of gods?

I don't recall having seen this elsewhere.

Thanks,

If I already own the books from 2E, and the Dragon magazines with the Prestige classes that appear to be re-printed in this book, is there any reason for me to buy this version? In looking through it at the hobby store, I didn't see much reason to buy it, but I'd like to be wrong. This is the kind of book I like to buy.

One interesting/sensible sidebar.

The full list of nature deities is given, with a caveat that if you're a druid and your nature deity has a favored weapon that is not on the druid's list, you can use that weapon without violating your spiritual oaths. Quite a nice touch, I thought.

Off-topic...

Paladin: Where do you get your books? I recently moved to Waxahachie and the only place I know of that has gaming books is Hastings. Is there, perhaps, some some sort of shop I'm unaware of? :-)

Wow! Another gamer in Waxahachie! It's a sign of the Armageddon!!! :D I work in Richardson, so I get all of my books at the Lone Star Comics on Preston Rd. Although, I went to Northeast Mall in Hurst to get F&P, as they had it on Wednesday.

BTW, if you're looking for a game in Waxahachie, we play every Sunday, and we're looking for new players. E-mail me, or post here, if you're interested.

No, I didn't see any reference like that made in F&P. Did I mention how good of a illustration Sune got though?

Paladin, can you post the stats of all the gods from the book? And all the prerequisites for the prestige classes, I want to make my character into all of them...

Sure, just send me $35.66 + S&H, and I'll send you a full color, fully illustrated, hard-cover version of my, um, notes. :D

Yeah, I think I saw some blonde dude with a big hammer fighting a big serpent down by the courthouse, and I swear that ship that was floating in Lake Waxahachie was built of of the fingernails of the dead...that probably explains it! :-)

I run a session at my friends' house in Mesquite on Fridays (and I'm looking for a couple more players myself). I would jump at the chance to join if I thought my hectic life (read: wife, 6 year old, 1 month old) would support a second session in a week. <sigh> :-)

Could someone post the prerequisites and some details for the Dweomerkeeper PrC (I have the book on order, but it looks like it will take some time to be delivered to Ireland)
Thanks,
Aenghus

I did this on the Mortality forum, did anyone happen to save it? If so, please post it here. I'll go ahead and give you the prerequisites right now though:

Race: Human
Skills: Know. (arcana) 8 ranks, Spellcraft 8 ranks.
Feats: Any item creation feat, any metamagic feat, and Exotic Weapon Prof. (shuriken), plus one of the following metamagic feats: Delay Spell, Persistant Spell, or Twin Spell.
Spells: Ability to cast 2nd level arcane and divine spells. Able to cast dispel magic
Domain: Magic or Spell
Patron: Mystra
Special: The character must have created at least one magic item, whether or not of a permanent nature. The character cannot have the Shadow Weave Magic feat.

The +1 spellcasting level is for divine casters only, or for arcanists too?

I've read it uses metamagic in a new way (mantle and cloak of mysteries?). How does it work?

You pick which class gets the increase.

The Mantle of Spells allows you to cast spells, that you pick to be in the Mantle, spontaneously like a cleric does with cure spells.

I'd say Yes. I own all of that too, but I know I don't want to convert it all to 3E! :D There's only one or two of the Prestige classes that I can think of that are re-prints from Dragon. The entries are all updated to reflect what has gone on in the Realms up to 1372 DR.

Clerics of Helm, Tyr, Torm- they all just scream out player character. It was a bit of a head scratcher that not one of them had a PrC ...
And? Most members of any given prestige class in a given campaign will be NPCs. Also, there are quite a few prestige classes out there that aren't suited for PCs in most kinds of campaigns...
