The Dutch coppers would love this- "There is some crazy American rambling about salt firing and digging up my yard!!!"

:p

Take a summer job at a "city archeologist".

There is a law here that forces buildiers to spend 10% of their construction budget on archeological digs at the construction site, so if something new is build the site is first surveyed and escavated by a municipal archeologist. And they always need "diggers".

You can get the molds for those beardy faces, if you want to remake those jars.

Does my heart good to see civilians recognize THE MAN.

Not only do I recongnize him, but my father owned several pieces of his work. :)

When I was but a little boy who didn't know the difference between art and ART, my dad was friends with James Carpenter (I knew him as Jim), the antique dealer who purchased George Ohr's collection from his sons. I believe my father may have been one of the other antique dealers who helped Jim put up the money to make the purchase. All I know is that we had several of his pieces in our house while I was growing up, and my mom might still have one. My dad was also involved with several of the auctions in the mid-70s that got Mr. Ohr's pottery out into the marketplace. I can say that I have held more than one piece of his work in my hands.

Yeah. I want to work with 13 and up kids. After they get a DEX bonus. :)

There are a lot of reasons, some of them are none-too-noble. I think I would really enjoy the work, I think it is important...but I also see that the income would free me to make whatever the heck I want rather than focusing my effort towards stuff that sells.

How is that for wishy-washy?

Not wishy-washy at all. I don't think it's "none-too-noble" to do important work that you like in order to have a decent income so you can do more work you like.

This way, in 15 years when you become a famous artist, we can expose you as a gamer geek.

So you're going for 3D, that's obvious, but do you have a 2D portfolio up anywhere? Do you just plan to teach 3D?

Just wondering. In my experience I haven't seen really speciallized teachers outside of colleges.

I do not plan to teach just 3-d, but like most people I have strong preferences for where I do my own work.

I don't see it as too different from the thousands of art teachers who can draw and paint but cannot sculpt ot pot to save their lives. Except I CAN draw and paint. :)

No online portfoilio, cause that isn't where I make my money. :)
