[B]Would Cthulhu's Librarian please contact me? I'm at [email]Carolyn252@aol.com[/ema
Hello. My husband and I are very interested in the message you posted and want very much to talk to you. If you'd send me an email, I'll reply and give you our phone number. (or email your phone number to me and we'll call you. Whichever you'd prefer. We're located in a suburb of NYC.) My husband would like to talk to you about anything you can remember about Jim Carpenter, George Ohr and the pottery. My husband has written many books and articles about them both and is always delighted to have yet another source of information, remembrances, and any anecdotal stories, photos, etc. (Please don't think that you don't remember anything substantial or useful to share; sometimes even a short telephone chat could trigger a long-forgotten memory.
[I've copy and pasted the original posting below, so you'll know what I'm referring to. ]
With kindest regards,
Carolyn252@aol.com

When I was but a little boy who didn't know the difference between art and ART, my dad was friends with James Carpenter (I knew him as Jim), the antique dealer who purchased George Ohr's collection from his sons. I believe my father may have been one of the other antique dealers who helped Jim put up the money to make the purchase. All I know is that we had several of his pieces in our house while I was growing up, and my mom might still have one. My dad was also involved with several of the auctions in the mid-70s that got Mr. Ohr's pottery out into the marketplace. I can say that I have held more than one piece of his work in my hands.
