I got the saga edition

D&D already has Use Rope and Tumble... skills in d20 are typically named in the "Do this" format rather than the "Course Catalog" format. Profession and Knowledge are notable exceptions in D&D. Most of the rest are action verbs, many structured to sound like they are imperatives or in the present perfect, in the first or second person.

A decent level Jedi will block most blaster attacks merely via high Reflex Def. They just won't have a layered defense.

Are you allowed to graduate from Jedi school without being able to deflect blaster bolts back at your attacker?

Yes you are. Not all Jedi are homicidal loons that revel in their ability to say, "Stop shooting yourself. Stop shooting yourself."

I would say so based on the scene with Jedi fighting in the arena at the end of AotC. There were quite a few that didn't seem too proficient at blocking or reflecting blasters.

But they all did it at least once, I am nearly positive. Even the padawan in Revenge of the Sith does it.

Okay, that got a solid LOL from me. Now I *must* make an evil Sith Lord that taunts the PCs thusly :p

"Why ya shootin' yourself? Huh? Huh?"

I just got my notice from Amazon that my pre-order shipped. :D

So for those that pre-order through them should be hearing something soon.

I'm sure all Jedi have practiced blocking energy/blaster shots, it's one of the first things we see Luke practice afterall. They all should have some skill, but reflex defense is abstract enough to cover it. I would think the lighsaber combat talent tree is for those Jedi who are masters of the lightsaber. The other thing to consider is that fully trained Jedi are level 7+ as level 7 is when they get the build lightsaber ability. That gives them plenty of levels to pick up lightsaber talents if they want them.
