I got to playtest Castles and Crusades!

Hey Davis!

Just give me the word and I can spill all the beans.

Oh, well, I guess that's nit what you want, is it?

Tonight we resume play in Yggsburgh using the C&C rules, so by the weekend sometime I'll be sending Steve another campaign report. You and he need to decide where you'll post same...

Cheers,
Gary

Not to beat a dead horse

We haven't really had a chance to talk with our lawyer and really clear up what the playtesters can and cannot talk about, but I should be able to do that early next week. We hope to get a good part of it out for public consumption as the release date is fast approaching.

Thanks all!
Steve

Geoff, it's not "meaningless ad copy." You're speaking from pure ignorance, unless you can read my mind.

As a matter of fact, I *do* have specific things I could "rave" about, but I am prevented from doing so by the NDA I signed. I resent the implication that I'm spouting forth empty platitudes for some sort of marketing ploy - I'm simply saying only what I'm allowed to say, which are my true impressions of the game.

It makes you look like a shill or fanboy if you can't back up your claims other than with 'empty platitudes'.

If you can't say what's good about it, why say anything at all?

Geoff.

SO that people can know some thing good is coming down th road? If I see a great movie but don't want to spoil the plot, don't I still tell you it is a great move but just not spoil it? So it is with C&C While we are currently limited in what we can say, because of the NDA that doesn't mean we can't express our enjoyment of the game we are playing.
And what is wrong with being a fan-boy? Passion is a good thing, so why is it wrong to be a fan of something?

Right. I t was mostly the language I had a problem with. You can steer clear of the NDA witout being totally obtuse or slagging other designers. Just tell us how you felt, e.g., see my revised version above.

Because people asked a question, and he tried to answer it the best way he could - and, since he is under an NDA, he can't share much.
