I just did something I never though I would do

This 26-year-old and his 26-32 group is totally loving it. There is more roleplaying going on at the table than I've seen since I started 20 years ago.

My groups, comprised of a 12, 14, 16, 27, 28, 30, 32, 32, 38, and 41 year olds. None of us are interested in 4E. There are only 2 others, 27 and 28, who are interested, but not excited by it. Before we read the GSL we all were interested in at least playing it and trying it out. Now we will just stay committed to 3E OGL games, like C&C, True 20, M&M 2E, etc...

Odd. 4e brought this 37-year old back to D&D after 3.5 stomped all interest out of him years ago.

What a difference four years makes.

Nah, this 37-year old is rejecting 4e and loving 3.5. ;)

The 12-year old has a strong opinion about the GSL? I find that a little hard to believe.

PS I'm 37 and I like Villains & Vigilantes 2nd edition. 1st edition was teh suxxor, even though it was pretty similar to 2nd tbh.

I canceled my 4th edition pre-order. Amazon hadn't shipped my books yet, and given what I've read, seen, and now the GSL stuff was finally the nail in the coffin for me.

So long, WoTC, and thanks for all the fish.

Hooray! Every time someone rejects 4e an angel gets his wings!

W00t! Villains & Vigilantes 2nd ed. still holds a warm place in my heart!

As for 4E, it's not for me but it will go very well for my 12-year-old nephew, who wants to be a "dragon guy" with a big sword. I will play 4E with him, maybe his cousins and friends if I can convert them into gamers, and will stick with 3.5 for the grown-ups.

Despite the flaws we might see in it, 4E is still a good rules set. The GSL and DDI have nothing to do with gameplay for young kids who don't even know what they are.
