I just did something I never though I would do

I thought the WoW RPG was very well done. In fact it helped me enjoy the online game even more, because I had the "history" of the setting running through my head as I explored the world.

Today I went out and bought the setting book for Pathfinder's setting. Tried to order the True20 Adept guide too, but the store says it doesn't exist.

Keeping my options open.

If it wasn't for 4E, I wouldn't be playing anything. 3E was great at first, but at higher levels just sucked the life out of me....

Oh, I agree. Which is why I'll be using an E6/E8 variant from now on.

Odd. 4e brought this 37-year old back to D&D after 3.5 stomped all interest out of him years ago.

What a difference four years makes.
Nah, this 37-year old is rejecting 4e and loving 3.5. ;)
Same for this 37-year old. Obviously, age has nothing to do with it.

I canceled my 4th edition pre-order. Amazon hadn't shipped my books yet, and given what I've read, seen, and now the GSL stuff was finally the nail in the coffin for me.

So long, WoTC, and thanks for all the fish.

Was your decision to not buy a game really worthy of its own thread? Sounds a bit like an attempt to stir up more drama, to me.

der_kluge, I know we've only met once, but I'm going to ask you to reconsider at least picking up the PHB.

That statement may surprise some who have seen some of my other postings re:4Ed and know I don't like it much.

I think 4Ed is a decent game, and I might like playing it- but I don't think its a worthy successor to the 3.X mantle.

There are, however, some good things in the books that you might like to yoink as an experienced DM.

It would also be a good thing to have the 4Ed PHB just in case you get asked to join a 4Ed game.

Threads are like ice cream sandwiches.
When they're good, they are really good.
When they're bad, they are...still kinda good.
