I love the internet

Why do I love the internet? Two reasons, mostly.

1. Easy access to information. Whether it's the aforementioned song lyrics, computer help, or just about anything I care to learn about, I can usually find what I need withing five minutes for common stuff, to an hour for esoteric or in depth topics.

2. Cheap prices. I often order computer parts online, as well as books and movies. While I've had some bad experiences, mostly it's worth the little hassle I've faced.

Years ago, I would have said chat rooms. Now I say Google or any good search engine. I have random odd thoughts and I like to be able to find a half-way coherent answer in a few minutes.

BTW, what's this EnWorld you speak of?

Two reasons:

1) Microcultures. The ability for people of highly specific interests to meet and form bonds. It is truly magnificent that the communites we have created have brought billions of people together in a way unparalled in the entire history of humanity. The obstacles that once seperated us have been disintigrated and we can reach out, converse, and understand. It is truly a wonderous achievement for us all.

2) free pr0n

Yahoo email, EnWorld, Mongoose Publishing, Palladium, Paizo.com, Amazon.com, file swapping between friends, my computer server that acts as a dial into internet connection for three friends (without it communication would be impossible).

I just used eBay for the first time yesterday - I ordered a cool retro led digital watch (yeah, my geek-fu is getting stronger, but not as strong as for clocks in binary ;)) for a christmas present to meself. I couldn't even find a similar watch in finland, but the same manufacturers other models cost double the amount I found on eBay, even with shipping from USA to finland.

Hopefully the customs don't get in the way, I'm not familiar with tariffs on watches and what not. I'll see if anything comes through.

Buying a watch feels a bit strange though. I've not used one regularly since I started carrying cell phone in 98. But this model just looked too cool.
