How easy is it to...

• Run a campaign with just one player and one GM?
  • I ask, because while I was looking at Pathfinder 2e, I was struck by how much team work matters.
  • I ask, because while 2e remains my favorite D&D, my daughter would prefer something more customizable and, possibly, more complex than 5e.
• Play A5e on Foundry and/or Owlbear Rodeo?
  • If this takes off, we may end up playing with her long-distance boyfriend and his family.
  • I might be able to convince my friend in Dallas to play with me.

I would say the same as 5E. The game has the same core assumptions as its built off the same framework.

Play A5e on Foundry and/or Owlbear Rodeo?

I haven't played on Foundry but there is a robust A5E Foundry community and I have heard great things about the Foundry implementation.

Owlbear Rodeo is my VTT of choice due to its simplicity, and I run and play A5E in it weekly.

We also use Level Up Gateway for the character building, dice rolling, etc.

I can't really speak to playing with just one person, but I do agree that PF2e is much crunchier and requires a lot more intention when building out the party. A5e provides each character with a lot of utility and options, so it's probably doable.

As for Foundry, we run our games there exclusively and it works very well. The devs are generally very responsive and resolve issues quickly. It's not as automated as PF2e, but there are still a lot of nice quality of life things there.

It really is great. Not only is most of the content from a5e.tools already implemented in the base module, it also comes with stuff from MOAR and several other third party supplements in the compendium. So if you want to play a Goliath or Tabaxi or some other heritage not converted in official A5E content, you're good to go.
