I want to scream my intolerable fear to vent out my horrid frustration!

Ah! Thanks for your kind replies and encouragements!

BTW: I am not a computer programmer, but a graphic designer. What I do well is very specific, but if it doesn't work I will try to search more, but sigh... :(

BTW: about the woman, she is as poor as I am, so... :(

Of course if I suddenly find an old, ugly, but rich woman that got the idea to support me. Well, given no other choice... :(

In any case I will tell you here how it turns by the end of the week or the next. (BTW: this job would get me a neat 1500 euros - 2200 euros per month for just 10 - 12 days of work! So you can count on the two other competitors, out of 75, to be good too... :( )

My contract expires in June.
It won't be renewed unless sales improve. (I sell photocopiers.)
There is no way (especially since my boss and firm owner REFUSES to lower our prices, and they are about 15%-20% higher than the competition) that sales will improve, with the terrifying economic crisis going on in Italy.
I am as desperately looking for a job as you are, mon ami. Include I have a wife (she works, thankfully) and rent and bills to pay.

Let us wish the best to each other :) ... and hope things turn out for the best. My personal advice is "never let down, never give up. Keep going, keep fighting, keep striving."

And be honest with this lady about your financial status - but don't deprive her of the right to decide whether to continue seeing each other. Decide TOGETHER.

Best of luck, man. We all need some.

The same in France, yet with a BIG DIFFERENCE (sarcasm here): the government refuses to acknowledge it. According to them everything goes well, and will even go better very soon (but the number of RMIstes -something meaning unemployed people without anymore government's aid except for a symbolic 200 euros- has dramatically increased lately!) . I hate all those cretins! I hate them!!! (okay, okay, still on the political subject... :heh: )

If you come to London we have plenty of work for French persons who speak English, especially in the sandwich-making industry, but we're short of skilled professionals too. Plus if you don't get work we'll pay you unemployment benefit! :)

edit: I think the unemployment benefit starts after 6 months.

I like Torm's advice. It can't hurt. Tell them that it's really important to you that you do the job, and that you can devote all of your time to their project.

Well, I said (when giving my samples) that I was really motivated to get the job, but didn't say why of course. When the guy contact me agin to give his answer, I will see what I can say. Fact is, he said that "he wanted to work with the three of us in any case". However, I fear that beyond his current real need, he just has fancy business projects that may become a reality or not, someday... when it will be too late. :(
