I want to scream my intolerable fear to vent out my horrid frustration!

:( :(

I DIDN'T GET THAT FUC....NG JOB!!!

:( :(

Now I hate life!

Client said that out of the three competitors (to get it), one was bad and was eliminated. Then remained two: me and the other. Client said that my work was as brilliant and wonderful as that of the other, and blah blah blah, yada, yada. But he prefered to choose him for other motives unrelated to the work in itself. Well, :( I have known since the day I was born that I would be unlucky for ever... :( Well, the client said that nonetheless he wants to work with me, that he has "projects" going on, and that he will soon call me to make another similar job, and blah blah blah, yada, yada. I would like to believe it! But I don't. So now don't want to think about what will happen in the near future (one month from now when I run short of money).

I am going to try to find anything... :(

CRAP! Life is crap I tell you!!

Really feel for you with that job falling through.

I wish you luck with this. Might be one of those horrible times where you'll just have to take whatever's out there and do it. I've been in that position before - worst was a couple of stints of factory work - not nice, but kept a roof over my head.

Like S'mon said, there's quite a few job opportunities in the UK for people who speak English + A.N.Other language. As a nation we have shockingly bad language skills. Know a few French people who've capitalised on this. It might be worth a look, although it's a pretty alarming move... Might be worth having an internet browse and see if anything catches your eye.

http://www.Monsterjobs.com and http://www.gojobsite.com are both Europe wide sites that I've heard good things about.

And good luck with your lady friend.

Argh! I read through the thread hoping it was going to come through
for you, Turanil, and then came to this morning's post!

Got my luck and prayers too : my head goes on the chopping block end of May.

Advice I've been given that may help either with this job or the next; offer to
give them a "try-before-you-buy" plan. If the job is full-time, say that you'll
consult/contract for 6 months and then have them offer you full-time. Or if
it is contract work, offer a discounted rate for a month or so. Telling them that
you're so confident that you're the perfect fit for them, that you'll take a hit to
prove it. Just make sure to put a time limit on it either in a contract or otherwise.

Worst case, it buys you some time until a better job comes along.

Okay, I must SCREAM somewhere!! Because (my) life is intolerable!!

Well! Here is my problem!! Here, in this country of crap (France), my own professional sector is in crisis. But I suspect this whole country of sh*t is in total crisis but the government tries to hide it from us!! (okay, okay, sorry, it's political, but for a far off country you don't care about in any way).

But the pastries are good...though I did find when I was there that pretty much any social problem (crime, extrem alienation of 1st/2nd generation imigrants, corruption...) was swept under the rug by the elite, at least until pressure forced some kind of reaction.

You may have to get serious about looking outside France, at least in the EU (doesn't that include Finland?). but in any case, I hope your luck turns...I know mine did and it has for many I know

So sorry to hear that Dominique!
From what I've seen of your work I'm amazed that noone wants to hire you.
Maybe you should put some of your work up here, you never know, someone might know someone who could use an artist with your skills :)

Hang in there, though, it often has to get bad before it gets better.
I'm unemployed myself, and suffer from depression to boot (but working on getting better), and my new, British, girlfriend is in the same situation.
Now, she lives in London, so I'm also interested in what S'mon and Inconsequenti-AL are talking about with the job opportunities for bi-lingual people.
We've talked about a job as a translater/interpreter/aide/mediator for people of other nationalities, where you help them out when going to the social office and such. And I'm sure you'd be in much better circumstances regarding such a job, since more people speak French than Danish ;)
Can't remember what the company was called, though... :\

Ah! Thanks for your kind words everyone!

Well, here are the latest news: I won't become homeless and totally penniless before the end of June. Finally, governments' aids are two months more, so it's a (temporary) relief. Then, I am in the process of reworking my (professional) website with a slightly different aim. The work I did for the guy gave me the idea to try at all the others who do the same thing (too complicated for me to explain what in English, and not really interesting to read about anyway). So I have two months to find other clients in this branch where I do my best.

As for the woman: I prefer to remain prudent. Right now, all seem to be auspicious, but we still aren't lovers... I can't detrmine if she is interested in me, but shy; or if she is too polite to ask me stopping kissing her at every opportunity (despite I did ask). :heh: :\

I tried to chat a bit with you by PM, but it claims you've disallowed them...

Well, good luck with whatever you try. I fully empathize with you, being in a sorta similar situation.
