Legend
I hadn't watched the anime series Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo ("His an Her Circumstances" in the US) since 2002, back when I had a girlfriend that I was in love with. I've recently been rather frustrated with my inability to find anyone who likes me romantically, and though I knew I was trying too hard and worrying too much, something in me was saying that . . . I guess I was feeling that I needed to prove that I was still worthy of love.
I had to erase a bunch of the files on my computer yesterday, including all my music, so for the past day I've been going through old CDs my friends had given me, and listening to the weird mp3s on them. Mostly J-Pop, some soundtracks.
And then, just now at 3:30 in the morning, a little anime music video called "Kare Kano - Far and Away." It's set to an instrumental piece by John Williams called Far and Away, and it reminded me of how wonderful falling in love the first time was. Even though I'm not with her anymore, and I've often been bitter against her, being in love was a wonderful experience.
Sadly, the video is no longer hosted online, but if anyone wants to get a copy, let me know, and I can send it to you through AIM. It's just a sweet, chipper musical number that reminded me what's the best part about "loved and lost." I'll let you figure out what that is for you.
