IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Laynie, did you see a map of the school around here somewhere?"

Using a map of the school, Vanitri attempts to navigate to class rooms and areas where there might be books that have answers to the questions.

OOC: Would asking students for directions constitute asking for help? I'm pondering how litteral the rules are. (Literal enough for Laynie to ask questions for vanitri seems... well.. wrong, but beyond that, it's a bit vague).

(OOC: The directions don't specify, but they do specify that cheating will result in indelible red marks saying 'CHEATER' appearing on all his answers and his forehead until removed by the proctor. This may be one of the cases mentioned by professor Galton where it is intentional left underspecified to see what you do.)

*Laynie and Vanitri find a map of the school, but the map doesn't really indicate where there might be particular books.*

Vanitri will look for departments, and with Laynie's help, see if he can figure out what departments are likely to have the best chance of having books on any of these topics.

*Laynie nad Vanitri try to find the most relevant departments and staff listings. They are able to determine that five of the questions' topics are covered somewhat by the areas of research of some of the school's professors. The remaining four don't even have a department in the whole school that seems like it would answer the questions.*

"The full resourses of the Accademy huh? Let's see what other resources there are."

Vanitri looks though information on the Accademy for any other resources beyond the library, potentialy including any in town (As I don't think it was specified that he couldn't leave).

*There don't seem to be any resources in town at all, and they can't find anything that covers the last four questions regardless. They do still have the info that might help out on five of the nine at least.*

*Vanitri and Laynie heads around the school to the offices of five different professors. The professors won't answer any of Vanitri's questions, but each one directs him to a draft for an incomplete paper they are writing o ntheir current research. These drafts don't have the answers in them directly. However, after reading them, Laynie is able to figure out bits and pieces of the answer that Vanitri then puts together--barely. He can thank the necklace for his ability to do so.*

Vanitri looks at the remaining four questions and tries to see if there is anything that might connect them to the Accademy.

*Vanitri cannot determine any direct connection in the questions to the Academy, other than the fact that they all ask extraordinarily difficult questions about magical theory.*
