IA: A Teacher for Laynie

[Bront]

"Thanks."

Vanitri gets down to work, answering the ones that he can think of easily off the top of his head, and working his way towards the harder ones.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Vanitri finds that he can't remember all of the things he researched exactly, but he at least has a fairly good idea for a decent number of the questions. He answers as many as he can, doing the easy ones first, but it seems like almost no time at all by the time Layna reappears with Laynie, who is playing with a little kitten. Vanitri isn't even finished half of the questions.*

"That's time," Layna says, taking the packet of questions and answers from Vanitri, "And that's it for today. Take a rest--you'll need it for the final exam."

 

[Bront]

"I take it few people finish?"

"Where's tomorow's exam?"

 

[Rystil Arden]

"I don't think anyone finishes everything. It looks like you got a decent number anyway. Less than I did, and certainly less than the real genius top scorers, but with your part 1 results, you're definitely still on track."

"For tomorrow, you can meet your three proctors at the archives at noon."

 

[Bront]

"Great. Did you have fun Laynie?"

Vanitri will head back, and rest up for the event. He'll practice by discussing a little bit of magic with Laynie.

OOC: Onward ho!

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Yep! Look, this is Felicity. Isn't she the cutest kitty?"

(OOC: Okey dokey )

*The dawn ushers in a new day. After preparing, Vanitri heads over to the Academy for the final exam. At the archives, he sees a professor he doesn't recognise waiting for him.*

"Greetings, Mr. Duskrider. I trust you are prepared for the final exam?"

 

[Bront]

"Why yes, she is quite cute. Who's kitty is she?"

"From the sound of things, I don't think anyone is truely prepaired, but I am as ready now as I'll ever be."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"She's my little friend," Layna answers, "Felicity is very shy, and she usually just likes to rest on my lap while I'm reading, but she seems to like little Laynie too."

"Good. A Miss Larinas will be looking after the girl, so leave her here and follow me."

*He does not wait for an affirmative, simply walking out of the door at a measured pace.*

 

[Bront]

Vanitri nods, "Laynie, you be good ok?"

He then follows the the professor.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Laynie nods her assent.*

*As Vanitri follows the professor through the halls and to an enclosed spiral staircase leading down underground, the professor speaks without turning around:*

"I will remind you that you signed a form earlier that stated that the Academy is not liable for any harm that may befall you during the examinations, and that you have chosen to continue of your own free will. In tandem with this, you may choose to leave at any time--if you don't mind failing."
