IA: A Teacher for Laynie

[Rystil Arden]

"You must have had some pretty bad dates before, then," Elektra jokes, "I can tell I've been way too depressing and negative to be considered a good date. I'm just being the girl who whines and makes you listen, which is really rude of me. I'm sorry."

 

[Bront]

"Perhaps all I ever wanted was to listen to you and learn about you, and you have certaintly accomidated me well." Again, Vanitri makes a turn and pulls her close in the dance. "And indeed, the dance has been fun as well."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"I think you're just being very nice to me and very polite. Don't do that too much though, or I fear when you find the girl for you some day, she might walk all over you."

*As she spins in close, she laughs and shakes her head.*

"Now if I could only figure out how this dance works properly--your poor foot must be sore by now from my stepping on it."

 

[Bront]

"Is that what you're doing right now? I thought that was just your dancing," Vanitri says with a wink. "'Sides I've not said anything I don't think is true Lex."

"Well, I'm willing to let you practice. Besides, can't complain about the closeness or the company," Vanitri says as he wraps his arms around her and moves to the music.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Elektra nods and tries to learn the rhythm and the moves and meld into the flow of the dance. As they continue at it, she still never really manages, but at least she keeps off Vanitri's feet for the most part and seems to be doing marginally better.*

"Well, I guess maybe I'm starting to get the hang of it...But it's late now. We should be getting back--oh, but we should tip the musicians before we go. They played very well."

 

[Bront]

Vanitri nods and leaves a silver for the musicians as they head out.

"I must say Elektra, I enjoyed the evening very much," Vanitri says as they ride back. "I do hope to do this again sometime."

Vanitri spots a flower on the ride back and stops, stepping down to pick it up, and reaches up to put it in Lex's hair, "May I?"

 

[Rystil Arden]

"I must say Elektra, I enjoyed the evening very much. I do hope to do this again sometime."

"I had fun too, and I just hope I wasn't too depressing at dinner," Elektra shakes her head and then smiles, "I can't again until at least after finals, but then I'll have much more spare time. Maybe we could even try a double date, and I don't mean the kind where you bring a friend and his date."

"May I?"

*Elektra smiles, though she is a bit surprised that Vanitri managed to find a flower growing here.*

"Of course. I need to put up my illusion for returning to the Academy anyways to make sure nobody notices that there were two of me. This time, I'll be a pretty little dryad with a beautiful flower from a sweet young gentleman."

*She casts her spell again and her form shifts into that of a lovely fey, with a flawless face, big green eyes, and hair the colour of bright changing leaves. Then she bends her head down to make it even easier for Vanitri to place the flower.*

 

[Bront]

"I'll be the envy of the Accademy," Vanitri says with a smile.

Vanitri carefully weaves the stem under her hair so the flower sits just above her ear. He smiles, and gazes into her eyes as he does, before giving her a tender kiss (unless she backs away at that point). He then smiles, and wordlessly remounds and resumes the ride back.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Elektra doesn't back away from the kiss unless it is held for over a second, in which case she pulls away. She holds onto Vanitri behind him on the horse as they ride back and return Vanitri's faithful steed to the stables. Then they head back to the Daryne dormitories to get some rest. First they stop by Truman's room, where Truman is sleeping, his good eye fluttering slightly at the noise of their entry but not opening all the way. Laynie is reading at Truman's desk, and she glances at Truman and then waves quietly before coming with Vanitri.*

"That illusion is very pretty, Elektra," she points out.

*Elektra's other copy has either already rested or not started yet, as she's poring over a book when they get back.*

 

[Bront]

Vanitri nods, "Almost as pretty as the real thing. It was a pleasure Miss Planter." Vanitri gives a flourishing bow and gives Lex's hand a quick kiss.
