OOC: Ahead is to the stairwell room?

The party moves forward into the foyer and finds a partially stocked bar, though many of the bottles are broken. Exits are to the north, south, or ascending the broken stairs.

[sblock=Perception_15]The broken stairs reveal cracks that imply there is a level below them. It should be possible to pry up the boards and get in there from here if desired.[/sblock]

Being the self-respecting dwarf that he is, Kilvo looks through the bar in an attempt to find a bottle still intact. He then heads to the north stairs and notices the cracks. "Hmm," he ponders. "Looks t'be a room hidden under these stairs. Best be pryin' these boards up to get a better look."

Kilvo does find multiple bottles that have not been broken, though some may be spoiled by other means. One particular bottle still has an unbroken wax seal and is labeled with a paper wrapper with a sickle and hammer. The liquid inside is mostly clear.

Under the stairs you find a small chamber and a trapdoor. Behind the trap door is another set of stairs. It looks like there were spots for candles to be placed along the walls, but they've long gone missing. The stairs spiral downwards some 40 feet.

Descending the stairs you come into a dark chamber, roughly as large as the stairwell room. The lanterns light crosses a number of decaying skeletons held in place by chains and shackles. They vary in size ranging from children to adults. A series of tables with scattered refuse, papers, and various vials, brushes, and more mechanical instruments can be seen.

At the opposite end of the room, shackled to the wall, is a waifish looking girl in tattered linen clothes. Around her head sits a bronze pot with a myriad of squid-like protrusions and eyes seemingly blinking and shifting in the darkness. She... and the pot... don't seem to react.
