OOC: I am assuming that the temp HP allow Theremin to rise

Seeing the creature still standing, Thael wonders if it is an undead
OOC: Arcana? [roll0]

In any case, he wastes no time and casts a spell on himself.

OOC: cast cure wounds for [roll1] HP recovered + the 3 temp HP from Heroism

edit: sucky, sucky rolls!

Finally the thing falls.

[sblock=Arcana]You've never seen anything like this before, but you have read stories of people animating the dead and binding them to their will.[/sblock]

OOC: I imagine that Thael knows a bit about undead, since he is able to turn them. If only he had known...

Thael shudders and says: "These things are not of the natural world. They are undead creatures, likely created by a powerful entity..."

OOC: I imagine that Thael knows a bit about undead, since he is able to turn them. If only he had known...

OOC: In this setting not quite like that. At absolute best there are fables or old occult tomes that talk about such things, but you've never seen this. This isn't something people believe is real. Your character can turn them, but I imagine that's more along the lines of the priest raising his cross to the vampire in absolute fear and then being surprised that it actually works.

The masks are slightly difficult to remove as they seem to have been sewn onto the creatures heads. It looks like their skin there has been peeled off, and the muscles that are left were sewn into horrified expressions.

OOC: Also waiting for reactions from the rest of the cast.

"Undead! Great! I always wanted to prove those are real. I poked around tombs and I was sure that at some of them I wasn't really alone, but with this! We can prove to the world they exist! Shuffling, slow, non-talking, fleshy. By the legends these would be zombies rather than wights. Thael? You agree?"

Ersarkess shows enthusiastic, even too enthusiastic interest in the creatures, cutting into them, taking masks off and studying the stitching. He produces several illusions of them with masks, without them, moving around...he repeats it dozens of times until he gets each detail just right.

"We should probably get the children back."

Changing to barbarian speech
"Raghnall, the legends talk about creatures of the night. And only way to keep them down is to cut off their heads. Would you please? Also, are you alright?" the bard motions toward barbarians axe

And back to common.
"Thael, you alright now? Do we need to get back to the tavern to clean the wounds?"

Raghnall studies the faces and pulls back in revulsion, who would do this? Life and death where sacred, why would one pervert it like this. Raghnall runs his hand down the scars on his neck, he carried the weight of his kills.

Glaring at Ersarkess Raghnall does as he is bid, he seemed smart but not learned. The way he mocks them with his magic and studies them makes Raghnall feel unclean.
