D&D 5E [IC] Adventures in Ashwell: The Edge of Dispater

[Creamsteak]

As the group goes about their business and starts to collect themselves to continue forward you hear slow clapping behind you from the top of the stairs.

The scarlet robed man's skin is transparent. His veins are visible through his skin, his fingernails are dark with bruising, and one can see the dark in the center of his red eyes through his eyelids.

"Very very good. I see there are more of the few among you. Yet your sin does not seem that dark. Before you draw your weapons again, entertain me a bit. What are you doing in my home?"

 

[industrygothica]

"Home?" Kilvo repeats as he looks around at the slaughter. "Ye got these things runnin' around in yer home? What kind o' madman does that make you?!"

 

[Creamsteak]

"What master does not have servants? Yes, the place is in disrepair, but it's in the depths one can truly avoid the observations of the outside. I do not usually find myself treating with unexpected company."

 

[industrygothica]

Kilvo suddently finds himself wondering if it was the last bit of unexpected company that he just splattered all over the room, but he keeps the thought to himself.

 

[Azurewraith]

Raghnall moves to the head of the group keeping his axe close at hand, the others seem calm so he does not strike. Though he can't understand the words Raghnall does not like the sound of them.

 

[Neurotic]

"We apologize, sir, for breaking in like this. As you said, it is not outwardly inhabited and we had some rather disturbing encounters so far. This seemed like a good place to rest for a bit. With your kind permission, we will depart for the surface. A moment so I can translate for my more martially oriented friends."

Ersarkess moves next to Raghnall motioning children toward the exit. Waiting for the answer, he quickly translates for Raghnall, speaking discreetly, but not trying to hide the speech.

 

[Azurewraith]

Raghnalls face is anything but discreet after he is filled in on the details, his face creases in anger as his fingers begin to twitch at the haft of his axe. This was the one with such flippant disregard for the sanctity of life.

 

[Neurotic]

"Kids to protect, friend, think of the kids." soothes the bard

 

[Creamsteak]

"Those children have served their purpose."
