D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

When opening the tomb of this Caradoon character, you find there is no corpse... and no sign of a corpse having ever existed within. The site almost seems like it is more... something prepared to accept a body. Like a grave-site, unused.

As you head back towards the eastern hallways, you map out the spiral staircase leading downwards... towards a door.

The passage leads to a gate made of iron bars that blocks the way north, secured with a chain and padlock. Just beyond the gate, worn stone steps descend and turn left. This is no mine tunnel—the stonework is near-perfect despite its evident age. To the right, a short passage leads to a big door of iron plate, dented in from the other side.

To the south... the mines extend in many directions.

Several rough-hewn mine tunnels converge near this spot, shored up by old timbers. Patches of weird fungus or lichen cling to the walls in places. A soft breeze moans through the passageways.

Dent moved forward slowly and carefully to Y20. He stopped, then leaned his head around the corner and looked both east and south. He tried to be quiet during his approach, but his plate made it difficult.

The area around M23 (the writing on the map, not the square):

A localized cave-in partially obstructs this disused mine tunnel. A heap of rubble stands six feet high and blocks a ten-foot long section of the passage, but the tunnel definitely continues past the collapsed section.

[sblock=Dent]The voices are definitely coming from an area south and then east of here.[/sblock]

Damien followed in Dent's wake but headed south, relying on his exceptional ability to see for a great distance in the dark as well as his natural stealth. As an afterthought, he conjured a disguise as a monk. As he reached the corner of one corridor, the warlock peaked to the west.

Damien dispelled his illusion and moved back to where the remainder of the party waited. "Looks like a single passage to the east. Not sure what's beyond that... I'll go scout it out, maybe we can get a jump on whoever is still down here."

Damien conjured his disguise again and headed toward the eastern passage, moving slowly and as quietly as possible. When he reached the corner, he peaked around to check the passageway heading south.
