Thaliss nods as and answer to the wizard's question and says telepathicall for all except the courier to hear Better to do this now while it is alone rather than later when it has friends he offers, as a laconic explanation, and proceeds to blast the pathetic wet bird until it dies.

Once done, he faces his companions and telepathically says to them only Do you agree with me that we should bring this letter to the person it was intended for? It seems that this queen should try to convince us of something, which could be interesting I'm also quite curious to find out whom this "noblewoman is.

When Maighan is satisfied the Courier is secured, she ceases concentrating on the Hold Person spell.

"Where were you taking the letter?" she asks in a conversational tone that belies the gravity of the situation. She could as well be asking about the weather.

"Let us dispense with the preliminaries, shall we?" Maighan inquired. "We know the Feathergale Spire is not what it claims. We know you were delivering this note to a 'queen.' And yes, we killed your bird. It was attacking us."

"Now. To what location were you delivering the note?"

Thaliss mumbles a few words, and then speaks to the courier "Indeed, I am saddened to see the level of attachment you had towards the blue fowl, but I hope you understand that given the circumstances, we had to ensure our safety. I also believe we should focus on more pressing matters, and I request that you read the letter you were carring" Thaliss takes the unsealed letter and brings it in front of the courier's eyes. After waiting for the prisoner to comply, Thaliss continues, speaking, "I am Thaliss of house Eviastarim. As you see, your commander wants us to meet the Queen. We are quite intrigued by this potential offer. Knowing this, and knowing that we may end up being comrades, will you comply with the commander's wishes and lead us to the queen?"
