D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

Carradoc is satisfied with the fireball explosion. Only one of the monks has approached the group, but he is surprised to see the speed with which the monk moves. Carradoc falls back, and fires a chilling blast. "Pew."

Move to Z13.
Fire Chill Touch at Q12. [roll0] to hit. If successful, damage = [roll1] (no hp recovery).

Maighan slung her staff back over her shoulder and produced her bow as she walked purposefully to a better position. With a quick, practiced motion, she drew an arrow back to her cheek, and let it fly at the final monk.

The idea of taking him alive had occurred to her, but an interrogation that none of them were terribly qualified to conduct with a fanatic who didn't fear death seemed like a waste of time, and right now every moment counted. The alarm hadn't gone up yet, as far as she could tell. Preserving surprise was far more useful than trying fruitlessly to cajole a cultist into spilling whatever scraps of knowledge he might have.

(Bow attack! [roll0] and [roll1] with advantage, for [roll2] damage.)

Thaliss moves forward and invokes a fiery hell around the monk.

[sblock=ooc]Move to S14
Cast create bondfire centered on monk
Dex saving throw dc 16 or [roll0] damage
[sblock]Create Bonfire
Conjuration cantrip
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You create a bonfire on ground that you can see within
range. Until the spells ends, the bonfire fills a 5-foot
cube. Any creature in the bonfire’s space when you cast
the spell must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or
take 1d8 fire damage. A creature must also make the
saving throw when it enters the bonfire’s space for the
first time on a turn or ends its turn there.
The spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach
5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8)[/sblock]

Note that I'm doing this to see if the entangle spell will function in combination with create bondfire (i.e. does the fire end the restraint?).

(OOC - It would for Web, but Entangle has no special rules for burning. Presumably the plants would eventually burn away, but they don't go up like dry paper...)

OOC: That's what I want to check. It's DM's call, but in a narrow passage, a combination of entangle and create bondfire could be fun, if the plants don't burn away and possibly reappear... too bad it doesn't do as much damage as eldrich blast! +5cha x 2 is strong! ;-)

The monk easily deflects the arrow.

He then tries to move, freeing himself and charging towards Thaliss.

Thaliss deals minimal damage with his flames.

Dent, Maighan, and Caradoc can still act.

Carradoc positions himself to have clear sight of the onrushing monk, and fires. "Pew."
