D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

After a moment at the double doors, Tolan remembers the other exit and goes up to check that door. He will poke his head out for a moment to see what can be seen outside, and then close and, if possible, bar the upstairs door.

Thaliss explores the surroundings. If he doesn't see anything of interest, he'll telepathically address Damien, Carradoc and Aridha Shall we go back upstairs, and brief our companions?

OOC: in case it is required:

Also, I imagine we are getting close to nightfall, no? Perhaps this would be a good time for a long rest? ;-)

OOC: I assume I didn't find anything on Urshnora.

Arriving at the top of the stairs, Damien entered the large room and dropped Urshnora's body on the floor. Looking to Dent and Tolan, he said, "There's a stream below with a pair of boats." Nudging the woman's body with the toe of his boot, he continued, "She said it lead to a temple of some sort. Not sure how much activity it sees being a secret door, but we need to figure out something to do with the bodies. I imagine we can clean up pretty well with magic in case anyone comes along, but we need to rest."

Damien eyed Tom, as if he had just noticed him, finding his sense of self-preservation admirable.

"What's our next move? I remember talk of others in the keep who we should probably eliminate. I could attempt to impersonate Jolly, but I didn't really get to hear enough of his speech to mimic him as well as I could."

Tolan comes back down from the upstairs quarters, and nods at the returning Damien.

"More water down there, eh? Well this lot seems fond of it. We can return them to their beloved river as we did with Shoalar. I am tired, but between Aridha and Dent, I am back in fighting form. I think there is too much left undone here. We cannot rest safely until we close up some loose ends."

He shrugs and looks at Tom and the last Reaver.

"Tom has been helpful enough. I kept one of the warriors as well. Possibly to double check the information we have. Or maybe he's just unnecessary."

As the others discuss the fate of the Reaver and Tom, Thaliss casts prestigitation repeatdly to clean up any sign of the fight. He nods in agreement when Tolan mentions that the bodies can be disposed of downstairs, in the water, in the same fashion as Shoalar.

At the bottom of the secret staircase, looking out to the jetty with the two little boats on the underground river, while his companions torture a shape changing water serpent a few feet from him, Carradoc considers the choices he has made.

He chased her here, and he feels he helped capture her, but his magic is mostly depleted and he can feel the mascara running down his cheek, smudging the very elegant lines that he had drawn on that morning. he sighed.

His shirt was torn -- that was quickly mended, and the blood would come out easily enough. He wasn't really sure he had the heart for torture, or interrogation, or whatever they thought they were doing, but here he was. No rout the information gleaned would be useful. But getting it wasn't any fun. So he started up the stairs ahead of the others, and joined the conversations about treasure. Treasure, at least, was interesting. Yes, there had been some interrogation here as well. But now they were onto treasure. And someone had found some spells.

Carradoc understood covetousness. He knew what it did to most people, and he knew how he personally avoided it. He understood that his desire for new knowledge, new spells, had nothing to do with covetousness at all. He, for one, was above it. But he would have those scrolls.
