D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

[Creamsteak]

"The inner temple. Vanifer was always there, but she left for the burning colossus."

 

[Kobold Stew]

"Would you take us in?" he asks.

 

[Creamsteak]

Lyzzie shrugs. Walks over. Opens the red door. Waves cheerily at the two braziers to the north and south. "Hi guys. I know she's not here. Not going to bother anyone, just some visitors wanted to take a peek."

This room has a wide alcove in the west wall. A raised dais with an altar fills the alcove. Flanking the dais are two smoking braziers and two flickering torches in sconces. Rich tapestries decorate the walls. The tapestry behind the dais is adorned with a stylized cauldron symbol.

"Thank you for showing us in Lizzie" Thaliss says, in what appears to be genuine. "Can you tell us who you are talking to, and why do we see a cauldron symbol everywhere?

 

[Creamsteak]

"For a mage you seem a little daft... the elementals. Fire? Braziers? Shouldn't it be obvious?" She walks towards the brazier on the left and produces a bit of coal from her spell component pouch. "One for you..." Then she walks over to the other elemental. "And one for you."

"Good boys."

She turns around and smirks. "Oh the cauldron. I don't know, just a symbol. We do this wiggly finger thing as a pass sign. It's a little embarrassing though so I don't bother."

Lyzzie starts by holding one hand in a fist, thumb up, and laying the other hand over the fist as if to cover the bowl but allow the flame to show.

"Stupid, right?"

Thaliss laughs out loud "I hadn't considered the fires! Do they understand our language?" He looks at them to see if he sees any features that make them appear alive.

"Stupid, right?"

"Well it depends what the sign is, I guess. Can you show us? Oh, anything else of interest to see in this room? I guess you're officially our guide!" Thaliss adds, seemingly joking.

 

[Creamsteak]

"Well it depends what the sign is, I guess. Can you show us? Oh, anything else of interest to see in this room? I guess you're officially our guide!" Thaliss adds, seemingly joking.

"I just did it?"

She looks at the rest of the group for confirmation that she's not the only one confused by Thaliss.

"I don't know much about Vanifer's doings here. Well if I had my pick of things, we'd go murder Bastian. Straight north, cross the bridge over the lava, first door on your left."

The flames seem to have taken the chunks of coal almost like cookies. Other than that, they just seethe and burn relatively quietly at the moment.

OOC: My bad, I hadn't realized that she did the sign in front of the elementals. I guess Thaliss will forever be the hot stupid guys in her mind ;-)

Taking on the role she gave her, without breaking part, Thaliss continues "So who is this Bastian, and why do you want to murder him? Do you have anything to give us in exchange". This last question had no hint of sexual innuendo.

 

[Creamsteak]

"I... I told you... Vanifer left him in charge here. But he's a no good no fun no-goodnick. He just wants power for himself, thinks he's better than everyone."

She ponders what she has, "I don't really have much to offer. I tell you what you want to know that I know that I know, then we burn a bunch of people to death. Sounds fair to me."

 

[River Song]

"Is Bastian a human?" Kubeba asks. He wandered over to the braziers and peered inside, seeing nothing of note he shrugged. "I am always happy to fight but I am still quite stuffed after the last fracas and need a rest."
