(IC) Dog Days of Doom!

He makes his dex save vs Sacred Flame:
Dex save: 1D20+0 = [19]+0 = 19

He makes his save vs Mind Sliver
Int save: 1D20+0 = [20]+0 = 20

Lucky rolls here.

@Snarf Zagyg You had to move half movement to get across so you're still 5 feet away.

@Kobold Stew You hear footsteps near you. They originated from the summoned stone wall.

@Neurotic Your riposte is noted - I'm going to let you guys go first in round 3, but your attack will miss. His AC is 18 (full plate)

End of Round 2

Anson pushes life force into the strikers and the Brazier ignites, bathing the entire room in blue-white light. As the light touches the sealed door, symbols of scales ignite in the same colour and glyphs and runes appear in a bright white around the door and around the lever next to it.

Anson changes his focus on what's going on and sees the wall that the woman summoned around her but, oddly, he hears footsteps that originate from it, moving north towards him.

Meanwhile, The warrior, standing in full plate beset on all sides is indefatigable, dodging and parrying blows, magic washing over him with no effect.

Seeing Stratus is focusing on self defense and not attacking, he changes his focus on Havoc,

"Listen here, brother," he says in common, "Your light is on so why don't you shove off. I ain't endin' up like that poor old sod... He points to the now dead elf. "and I ain't no pushover."

He steps back toward the summoned stone wall.

Seeing that the dwarf keeps going, Benny strikes at the warrior's mind.

Caer Droea feels the shadow within the amethyst depths of his ring calling out to his mind, and lets it loose. Immediately, his form, already fearsome and cloaked in shadows, begins to become indistinct as if he were not just one with the shadows of the Raven, but actually out of phase with reality itself. His angry visage trains on the dwarf, and he shouts, firmly and angrily, YOU WILL YIELD. WE HAVE NO QUARREL WITH YOU, BUT YOUR DEATH WILL CAUSE ME NO GRIEF.

With that, Caer swings the Blackstaff with all his might down upon the dwarf in order to force him to the ground.

OOC:
Move SW to melee range.
Blur activated from ring.
Disadvantage on all attacks against me, one minute

Swing: 1D20+5 = [13]+5 = 18
Hit, I think.
Damage: 1D8+5+1D6 = [7]+5+[4] = 16
16 damage
Topple: 1D20+4 = [8]+4 = 12
HA! TOPPLED!!!! Woot!

From the beacon's stand, Anson turns, trying to assess what is real and what is not. He hears a voice from behind him -- he is wary -- but the foe is either invisible or it is another illusion. Either way, he is more effective fighting the dwarf. Another blade emerges from his fist, and again he notes the hue is not the one that he had always made before (with its warm, reassuring light by which he used to read to Danai) but instead is cold, unsettling, and somehow cruel. Was this what he had become?

He attacks the dwarf.

OOC: If the dwarf is toppled, he will get within melee range (bonus disengage if needed) and attack with advantage. If he is still standing, he will (bonus) Aim, stay where he is, and attack at range with advantage. Either way,
1d20+5 (adv)=19 to hit, for 3d6+3=14 psychic damage.

If that does not hit, and if he hasn't needed his bonus action to make the attack, he will make a second attack, 1d20+5=15 to hit. I think that's a miss in any case.

Int save vs mind sliver: 1D20+0 = [17]+0 = 17

@Snarf Zagyg The dwarf parries your attack (AC +2=20)

@Kobold Stew You hit with your first attack but miss the second.

It's still round 2 3: Waiting on @FitzTheRuke and @Neurotic to act.

The light seems to be pulsing brighter now and there's a rumbling sound from way up above you, as if the light of the braziers are penetrating the stone itself.

As this happens, The Warrior brings up his sword against Caer's attack even as he fends off a mental assault from Benny. He stops talking to bring the full attention of his greatsword towards Caer, letting the weapon do the talking in response to the Shadar Kai's threats.

The sword swing in a large arc over his head, coming across Caer's chest and again, down on his shoulder, overwhelming him and forcing him to a knee.1

Gromlik Three-Teeth flinches as psychic daggers penetrate through his armour. The first time someone has managed to hurt the warrior. His face is grim with determination.

"Cailyassa, do something already!"

Almost in response, Anson hears footsteps move from north west of his position towards the lever. Everyone can see the lever move downwards as if someone is pulling it. The large door grinds upwards and the footsteps run into the room and fade away.2

"What in the nine hells?! Where'r you going?"
12&13.png

1.Attacks on Caer:
1D20+5 = [15]+5 = 20
2D6+3+1D8 = [1, 6]+3+[3] = 13 Damage
1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25 Crit
2D6+3+1D8 = [2, 5]+3+[3] = 13
+crit damage

Crit: 2D6+1D8 = [6, 6]+[6] = 18

13+31=44 damage total (Stratus will be able to parry some of that damage so you might still be up..)
@FitzTheRuke

2. If it wasn't totally clear, mechanically, someone is moving around unseen but had not yet taken the hide action. Which is why I pointed out which square you could hear movement previously This round they moved (opened the door) and hid. You will need to spend actions to locate them if you want to target them. (I think that's how being hidden works now)

As the door opens, some of you can see parts of the room

What Stratus sees:
A low-ceilinged chamber holds a statue of Wee Jas in the northwest corner, with a large chest before it and another key afixed into the base of the statue, similar to the one in the large chapel.

What Anson sees:
A low-ceilinged chamber holds a single ornate sarcophagus stands to the south, with a dusty open book set on one of four small plinths that surround it. There is a sarcophagus, whose sides are marked with skulls and whose engraving carries an arcane flavor not seen in the previous crypts.

Everyone else can only see the back wall.

"We don't have time for any of this!" declared Stratus in frustration. Then to the dwarf, "Stay down and you won't have to end up like your unfortunate friend! I say again: We are not here for you!"

"Leave him. Let's go."
he said to the others, referring to the dwarf.

But he didn't trust what the invisible woman might be up to. Would her greed impede their success? He just didn't know, and he was worried. He left the dwarf behind and followed the sound of the footsteps toward the other room.

OOC: He will risk an OA from the dwarf by Dashing for the other room.

OOC: do you want to move and spend an action trying to locate the woman or double move? A single move puts you just inside the door.

The warrior shouts,

"FIne! I'll surrender but you leave her alone!

He kicks his foot out as Stratus runs by, hoping to trip him but Stratus just jumps over the attempt.

As he gets closer to the door, he can hear a most audible sound of something hammering on the sarcophagus, trying to escape.

I don't know if it's legal to use an unarmed strike to trip on an attack of opportunity but the guy isn't interested in decapitating Stratus so I'm going to let him do that instead.

opportunity attack: 1D20+5 = [9]+5 = 14

Miss

Stratus can make an arcana check if he's trained in it.
